Moving to AZ
« on: February 25, 2011, 09:35:26 PM »
Hey guys me, the wife, and my daughter are planing on moving to AZ by next spring and we were looking at Prescott Valley area.  Seems the temps are mild but my question is what is the population like, the people?
I guess I could contact Prescott PD and get the crime index but asking people that live in the state i think would allow me to get an honest opinion.
I live here in San Dimas Ca. which is very nice but just five miles away is a cesspool of gang bangers so I am realistic in the fact you just can't get rid of these idiots and have to live close to them at some point. ( My solution is gather them up and toss them out the back of a C17 at 37k feet)

Any input would be very helpful and appreciated

Thanks Tommy

Prescott Valley in and of itself is quite small.  That said, it doesn't take long to get over to Prescott which is a bit more of an actual city.  What are you defining as mild temperatures?  It's certainly colder there than it is in San Diego.

True. For example, it's going to snow tomorrow. And the next day...

Imagine any southwestern city (Californian cities don't count... that may as well be a different country, no offense)...

now twist the time knob back 20 years, except for clothing styles, technology, and cars... just on the people. That's the people here in PV. A little behind the rest of the world... small town atmosphere in a middlish-smallish town. It's weird... slow paced but nice.

I guess what I mean by "mild" is the temps, 85'ish in the summer, not 115'.  Slow going would be a nice change from all the pushy people here in Cali. always in a hurry to get nowhere. Thanks for the input guys.  I think it's time for a road trip.

I agree with you on the "mild"--85 in the summer is not bad at all.
