have you ever dreamed of a gun so mystical, so perfect yet so strange looking? That gun you are dreaming of is The FN2000. A first glance a this gun and you might think it looks like a bug, it may, but when you pick it up and put it on your shoulder nothing will ever feel so right. this is my second go at this review, so im not too happy :/. but just thinking about this gun makes it all better.
The FN2000 is a beautiful gun, right out of the box it amazes, i would explain the box it came in...but its a box. right when you pick up the gun you feel the quality, it weighs in at around 7 pounds, pretty hefty and very very comforting. The polycarbonate shell is extremely sturdy and will take a huge beating before giving in. the top rail is CNC aluminum and there is a flip down front sight and an adjustable rear. picking up this weapon and putting on your shoulder is the absolute best feeling i have felt when holding a gun. it is so comfortable its ridiculous. It has the unique P90 fire slector switch, and the bullbup magazine well is perfect, smooth and it hides half of the magazine.
The rubber butt pad is quite comfortable considering how thin it is. behind this butt pad hides the battery compartment and the famous fps variable screw. I have a matrix small type battery that fits perfectly, also a lipo or nunchuck will fit. the FPS screw is one of my favorite features this gun has. The FPS varies between about 380 at its highest and 340 at the lowest, a very nice addition for people that play play CQB and Outdoors. the other amazing feature of this gun is the upper assembly. it removes so easy, it brings a tear to my eyes. to remove all you need to do is push a metal pin from the right side all the way through and slide it off. to remove the barrel, grab the hop up and and it slides out. making a field barrel swap so easy, a 12 year old noob could manage it. The gearbox is a full metal, reinforced 8mm version 2. The charging handle is non-functioning, but nether is the real steel which sticks to how realistic this gun is. it also has the forward ejecton port that folds down on the front right of the gun.
Performance of this gun will not dissapoint you one bit. with a very reasonable FPS comes an incredible rate of fire. with my Matrix 9.6 volt, the rate of fire is around 18 BPS, i wish i had a lipo to test with, but i dont. i imagine that it would be a very nice upgrade. The hop up system is very easy to access, located right behind the rear sight is a black flap that you flip up to reveal it, it works extremely well. Making the gun very accurate, i am able to hit a small target at 50 feet no problem everytime, at 100 feet is when it starts to drop. I have only played a few games with the FN2000 at VIP, but from what i have experienced i can safely say that this gun is a CQB monster. THe feel, look, and layout of this gun is perfect for close quarters combat. every corner that you turn, every window you look through and eveyr shot you take is almost perfect. the gun sits so tight on your shoulder that it feels like and extension of your arm. i could safely sweep any room and take out multiple target with immediate reaction and perfect accuracy. it was almost easy, but insanely fun at the same time.
to truely appreciate this gun, you need to see up close, hold it and play with it. words do not do justice to how great this gun is. reliability isnt a problem, being manufactured by G&G. With a price tag of $360 its a little steep, but you will not be dissapointed. i havnt really played around with this gun to go too in depth with the review. i recently purchased a tight bore barrel and am thinking about switching out the flash hider, i will update when those are applied.
