Yeah money is a big issue, but if money isn't for you then M82A1 is for you! That gun is so sweet. Realistically, you should just look at some sites, like precision, and see what they have and compare to other places. Once you found a choice you could come back here and I think some veterans could tell you if you have made a good choice.

P.S. My first AEG the CAM15A4 Carbine is in the mail and will be here in 2 days w00t!

Actually i was looking into a bolt-action rifle, and the m82a1 is way too huge, not to mention almost 3 thousand dollars!

I would think that if you did a Forum Search for "sniper rifles", you'd come up with a bunch of info. In fact, I'd bet that very same question has been asked and answered before.

I agree with pancho on that. Do a search on something before you waste bits n bytes! Personally I would go with a Classic Army m24 and upgrade it, throw on a harris bipod, big 'ol scope and start a shootin! If this is your first major airsoft gun..Dont get a sniper rifle, just get an aeg and then later maybe get one.

Man I was just kidding about the M82A1, but that would make one hell of a sniper rifle[:D]

Actually, $3000 from Wargamers for a spring one, and $900 from www.airsoftclub.com for an electric one.

My opinion would be the Mk1 Carbine Gas sniper. Stock right off the shelf it shoots 425 fps and has a range of 250 feet. At 200 feet it will be able to hit 2 inch radius of where you aim. Very good sniper rifle altho it is ugly. I havent heard of any AEG being able to go 250 feet, this is a major advantage. And also these cost only 70-80 dollars. They are gas NON blowbacks

I had a Tanaka M700 that shot 618 right off the shelf.  A little too powerful for the average game.  The Tanaka M24 is basically the same, but has a adjustable stock, and a PCS (power control system) allowing you to turn it down to reasonable levels.

Do you know that:
A) you spelled sniper wrong in the title of this thread (great intro!)?

and

B)  you can edit it so we don't think you need "Hookt On Fonicks"?
