Rise of the Insurgents III Dec. 31 at MTT UAC

Join Marauders Airsoft for the last game of 2011 at the MTT Urban Assault Course on Saturday, Dec. 31 for Rise of the Insurgents III.

Back Story
American combat operations and military occupation in Iraq is winding down. Less than 50,000 American troops remain in the country, and far less occupy the city of Baghdad where the United States keeps a strong presence of troops in a secure area known as the Green Zone. Heavily fortified, the Green Zone remains an illusive target for Iraqi insurgents.

Even though the Green Zone has been a frequent target of insurgent attacks in the past, most have failed to penetrate the outer defensive perimeter and most created few casualties. Now that the Americans forces are in a phase of withdrawal, insurgents feel a well coordinated series of assaults on the Green Zone could hasten the Americans' "retreat" out of Iraq. A well armed and trained insurgent cell launches an early morning assault on the Green Zone. To make the assault more effective, the insurgents use narcotics making them feel numb to the pain of gunshot wounds, and can only be killed by head, chest, and back shots, as well as grenades and nearby suicide bombers.

Uniforms
American Forces: Any military uniform, preferably desert, ACU, multicam
Insurgents: Civilian clothing, shemagh

Teams
American Forces - 60 (General Public)
Insurgents - 15 (Insurgents position to be fill by MTT Staff, MTT team members, and trained op for)

Admission
General Public: $40 Prepaid by Saturday 7PM, December 24th
General Public: $80 after December 24th
Annual Pass Holders: $10 before Saturday 7PM, December 24th
Annual Pass Holders: $20 after December 24th
Staff and Op For: Free

Chrono Limits
AEGs must chrono under 375 fps using .25 bb. For chrono, Marauders will provide the bb's.

8:00 AM - Gates Open at the Marauders Urban Assault Course
8:15 AM - Player check-in
9:00 AM - Safety Briefing
9:30 AM - Act One Mission Briefing
10:00 AM - Act One Begins
11:00 AM - Act One Ends
11:00 AM to Noon - Lunch - Raffle During Lunch
12:15 PM - Act Two Mission Briefing
12:30 PM - Act Two Begins
1:30 PM - Act Two Ends
1:30 PM - 1:45 PM Break
1:45 PM - PM Act Three Mission Briefing
2:00 PM - Act Three Begins
3:00 PM - Act Three Ends
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Clean Up and Depart MTT UAC

This is a scenario based event, not a Death Match. By changing the hit rules, numbers of personnel on each team, and the various roles of players, the game is more dynamic and challenging than your basic "green vs tan" battle.  Marauders Airsoft strives to differentiate their events from regular airsoft games by providing the public a more intense and immersive experience.

The role of the op-for is not to win the event. Op-for participates in the event to provide paying players (U.S. forces) the opportunity to test their skills and battle well trained insurgents who fight "unfairly" by using deception, ambushes, and IEDs to assault a well guarded fortified position. The special hit rule was designed into the game to provide U.S. Forces with a higher level of difficulty of successfully guarding the Green Zone and repelling attacks, but as U.S. Forces outnumber insurgents by 4 to 1, they should be able to overcome this complication if they use team work, communication, suppressive firepower, etc...

Kinda makes for a pointless game, doesn't it? Why not a more or less equal force-on-force.

im sure there will be a full face protection and helmets provided for the protection of the insurgent forces.
full face mask, helmet, and shemag should realy cut down on the risk of injury.
i dont see it as an excuse for them not to call there hits.
i see it as encourageing you to actualy aim for your target.
think of it as training for the zombie appocalipse. they only die by takeing off the heads too.
it will make it harder to get a kill. multiple moving targets and the target you need to hit isnt that big adds to the stress of the game. it would meen that squads would have to designate thier own sharp shooters so that while the bulk of the squad is doing suppresive fire the sharp shooters will have to take down targets. i like it. if i get the cash im in.

A shemagh isn't a helmet, and encouraging head shots goes against every safety briefing I've heard. Getting shot in the head does, in fact often happen, we all have been hit there at one time or many, but it shouldn't be condoned as a "approved target" in any game, if not as common sense, think ofinsurance liability. If someone gets hit in the ear canal and becomes deaf or worse, good luck explaining that targeting rationale..

Plus, using volunteers as fodder for the "paid" GI Joes doesn't cut it for me. Airsoft is a game, not an exhibition. Thanks, but Ill pass on this one.

chip i think you misunderstood what i was trying to say about protection.
i ment that the use of helmet, full face protection and shemag. not any one of them seperately, but all used together, would go towards protecting the insurgents. mabey mtt will have to figure out a better meens of takeing down targets or make it where most can be killed if shot multiple times but that some have to be shot in the head. but they would be people that volenter for the job and have the proper protection to help prevent injurys.
say semi auto for the designated marksmen so that no one is getting fullauto in the dome.
just some ideas. im sure mtt isnt going to make anybody play a roll where they have to get shot in the head. im pretty sure it would be a volentary thing.

american forces are the team that you are paying to play as no special training needed.
that the way it reads to me. us forces is the general public force. insurgents are the mtt trained people
