Question on tank adaptors
« on: October 27, 2011, 09:41:59 PM »
I'm just finishing up plans to build an inline vortex bbmg, its all coming along great except for one question. I've found some paintball tanks for dirt cheap, and I want to use those as the air source, they are perfect for what I am looking for.

But since I have no experience with this sort of thing I need a little help.
What kind of adapter/fitting will I need? It needs to eventually connect to an air hose that will run to the blowgun I am using as a trigger.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated

First off, you'll probably need a regulator. Since co2 runs around 800 psi (roughly, depending on temp)

I use this regulator for my mortar and rocket launcher. It screws directly onto the paintball tank. Figure out how much psi you need, than order the 600 psi spring set or 200 psi spring set accordingly. This regulator outputs to a 1/8" female pipe fitting. You can then easily convert that to whatever you need, but I find the 1/8" stainless steel hose also on the same website works very well.

Regulator:

Hose:

1/8" quick connect fittings (very useful): (note that these fittings do not stop airflow when disconnected, like normal 1/4" female QD fittings do)

If you don't want to go with a regulator, that same website sells all sorts of fittings and adapters for co2 tanks.
