No other sight or reporter at the show has mentioned anything about an assault and I think it's very in appropriate to continue to spread such a rumor.

What I do find interesting about this is that G&G (the manufacturer of the Cybergun-licensed SCAR) is not in on this lawsuit.  That is what takes the validity of their point down the toilet; the people that make the most off the gun (I hope) appear to not care at all.  I could see an FN/Cybergun/G&G side of the story if a company goes through all the hard work and effort to get the rights to display accurate trademarks, and someone undercuts them with a cheaper (in more ways than one), non-trademarked version.  This, though, seems like their offended that someone didn't take the time to whore themselves out to the highest bidder.  Don't forget that VFC also sells a fully licensed SCAR, and they aren't going after Echo 1 either.

G&G and VFC are licensed through Cybergun.  That doesn't give them ownership of the trademarks therefore they would have no legal grounds to sue.

Restraining orders aren't usually issued just for giggles.

You can read the full content of the restraining order on line. They are being restrained from marketing or selling their product as the merritt of their case suggests that cyber gun will be harmed by the continued marketing of the product by an unlicensed competitor. It has nothing to do with assault.
Restraining orders are for much more than just assault.

Lol, this sucks. I was planning on getting the Echo-1 SCAR-H sometime in the future. My friend told me about this a few days ago and I just didn't care. Today I decided to go look the gun up on Evike... its not there anymore. Now what? Ha

I'm don't know the answer to that, but they aren't for sale anymore on Evike. But if you go look at Amazon Echo1 is still selling them on there.

Yeah, this has been a hot topic on both real steel and airsoft forums lately. For those of you not active in the firearms community or havn't realized it yet, the RS world hates airsoft. It's unfortunate too because some very well respected firearms instructors such as Travis Haley have actually been advocating the use of airsoft for cost effective training. Furthermore the firearms industries tend to dislike us because companies will use trademarks on their AEGs assembled out of the US and then those AEGs are brought into the US. Cybergun on the other hand has agreements with various firearms manufactures for the legal use of trades on their guns. I hate cybergun as much as anybody else on here especially after meeting Krantz at the last Irene but laws are laws. As far as the lawsuits are concerned I would honestly be surprised if anything ends up coming out of this. This isn't the first time firearms manufactures have gone after airsoft and it wouln't be last either. I wish I could find the article but I remember reading about H&K handing out "cease and desist" letters to airsoft companies at SHOT either this year or last. Despite whatever legal action comes out of this it just adds more dirt on the image of airsoft in the RS world which is unfortunate.
