Well thanks for the info, but i have been caught by the cops multiple times due to angry old people dont like the sound, and the cops didnt mind at all. They simply just told us to play somewhere else and all these times that we got caught were in a neighborhood, groves, or just a nice spot to play all in the city. Is there any reason why we werent told it was illegal in the city?

Ohhhhh you just opened a can of worms with this one. As long as you're respectful most, and I say most loosely, cops will allow you to play as long as you do not harm other people passing by. If someone asks you to stop then you should stop playing, especially if it's in a park/neighborhood/or somewhere in the city. Should you be playing there in the first place? No but we all know people do it whether they want to admit it or not. The best thing to do is stop when people ask you to stop, if you're going to play there anyway. If a cop tells you to go somewhere else, go somewhere else. If the law says you shouldn't be there, you shouldn't be there. If there's a sign that says no bb guns/paintball/airsoft/firearms or whatever then you shouldn't have them in that spot. Just be ready for a backlash due to your post because I think one is coming.

As far as one being not told it was illegal, IGNORANCE of the law is NO EXCUSE, your responsibility where to play is YOURS my friend...

As far as angry old people not liking the sound I guess I would not be able to hear it very well due to exposure to jet engine noise, bombs and 50bmg in Korea 1952, and no I am not angry, I don't have enough years left to waste my time being be angry my friend...

I probably have who knows how many air soft guns, love shooting them and working on them...

Just sharing a thought my friend "old age and treachery will overcome youth and exuberance every time"

You will find many GREAT people on AA, please enjoy them...

Ok, so now that you know the law you are going to blatantly ignore it.  That is exactly the cavalier attitude that we do not need in our hobby and further pushes airsoft into the negative limelight.  As a local community we have already experienced people who have lacked better judgment and have paid the consequences, via either time in jail or paying off large fines.  Airsoft can not endure into the future when people carry on with such  piss poor attitudes such as this.

To date the airsoft community as whole has been lucky. In California, state legislature tried to regulate airsoft guns to be manufactured or sold in bright colors. Why? There are many reasons but one that comes to mind is little kids playing in parks or local neighborhoods with full scale replicas of assault rifles.  These are not meant to be used as toys for kiddies but since people still insist on buying them for their rug rats, legislators thought of a way to easily distinguish airsoft as a toy for kids and not a real fire arm.  Kids use airsoft guns and thus they should look like the standard neon color nerfguns, sounds logical, right?  Luckily the bill failed in that state, and if you think for a second "well that was in California and doesn't affect me.", you're dead wrong.

Please do me a favor, give your airsoft guns back to daddy and tell him to give them back to you once you have matured into a fully functional, law abiding adult.  Our community is fed up with this complete lack of respect.  And if you choose not to follow my advice, more stringent laws will be enacted and enforced for all of us to follow. Thanks, douche bags!

The last time I played airsoft in a public park was back when it was just me and a couple buddies with springers. We had no idea about laws or anything, and were completely uneducated on the sport itself. The guns were clear plastic, and we were still getting some concerns from people, even with the lack of a uniform. If you go out there, dressed in full uniform, with full size replicas of actual guns, do you really think that a swat team wouldnt be called by someone who drove by and saw a glance of that. What happens when someone see's you walking out of the park like that, as you said you end when people start going on walks. Thats likely to get attention, and somebody could make a mistake if they didnt know it was only an airsoft gun. That could put you in a scenario where someone could get shot, and potentially killed. I won't even step out of the house fully dressed. Please stop giving kids with airsoft guns a bad reputation, because you could get it taken away for all of us. Dont play in potentially unsafe areas, that have many visitors. Even the park that my friends and I used to play in didnt have many visitors to begin with, and we still almost got the police called on us. Please dont ruin the sport for everyone because of your foolishness.
Don't try to argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to thier level and beat you with experience.

Some poweeece offizeeeerrrs, have an itchy trigger finger too. I don' think Ma and Pa want to see their precious ignorant angel in a body bag. It's happened in other states with different situations. Trust me they will do anything to cover each other backs.

Everybody is telling to stay out of parks for a reason. Nobody wants to see this sport get banned or have a ridiculous law like California tried to pass. Nobody wants to see a police officer shoot a kid and no police officer wants to shoot a kid but if the kid puts themself in that situation then the police officer will take the appropriate action he/she needs to take in order to go home. Stay out parks or a residential area. Play where we are allowed to play and yes that will mean you have to drive. If you can't drive then get a ride. If you can't get a ride then wait until you can drive. This topic comes up reapeatedly and everybody on these forums are tired of dealing with it. Yes some poeple come over as rude and disrespectful and others come over as they don't give a shit but we all want the same thing and none of us want to see the sport get hurt. Do all of us a favor and play where you are allowed to play and read the laws regarding this sport.

Thanks for the info. The reason i was a little ignorant acting was because we played away from the park not in it or around it. But i see your guys' point and we will change location. Do you guys know if Fuji or Fiji field i call it the Alamo is open for airsoft on Saturday mornings? The reason i ask is because we went there last time on Saturday morning and it was full of paintballers, but that was a few years back so i dont know how it is now.  Thanks guys, i will choose to be more wise.
