Great day today, everyone. Too bad the Sheriff's deputy put a damper on the last game. For those that asked for the links of State Trust Land permits:
Here's where to get a permit:
http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natural/recreation_permit.htm - $15 for an individual, good on all State Trust Land in AZ and good for a year.
Here's the online viewer to show where State Trust Land is:
http://sco.az.gov/website/parcels/viewer.htm That's what the deputy had pulled up on his laptop with his GPS. It's a real piece of crap compared to Google Maps but it's what they consider the "map of record" for determining where the land is.
For those challenged by crappy software, here's a screenshot:
It looks like the boundaries have adjusted a little bit since I last checked. The blue is State Trust Land. The white is private land. The shaded part is Peoria. I don't see any marked as county land, which is interesting because a chunk of the blue used to be county. Of course, last time I looked was several years ago, before they razed (read: totally destroyed) the northeast part of Hatfield.
For the map challenged, the yellow line that says Happy Valley Rd is the little concrete wall at the north end of the playing area. The parking area is along the yellow line labelled 107th, south of the white block. North is up, btw.
I'll dig up a satellite view later and slap the lines on top of it. This was just a real quick post so that people can start looking.
Thanks!
