Upgrading RPS in a PTS Masada
« on: February 06, 2012, 02:03:31 AM »
Hey guys, I plan on buying a Magpul PTS Masada soon. My question is what would I need to do in order to make this baby fire a good 25-30 rps for outdoor and indoor games.

You could buy a high speed motor, I put SHS gears, high speed motor, and bearings in mine and I get 23-25 ROF it's just right for me.

11.1 LiPo batteries usually get a decent 20-22 rps. I want more of a higher rate of fire more up to 30 than just 22.

Have fun changing gears ALOT. Why do people insist on ripping on full auto, is it really necessary to have 22 over 32 RPS? I would much rather have a good burst mode over full Auto, I would say if you really must have it go 11.1 Lipo, High speed motor, New high speed gear set, and bearings.

The way I look at things when it has a high ROF I can use Semi at least faster. And I agree on burst fire, less waste of ammo.

Have fun changing gears ALOT.

If you are having to change gears, you are doing something wrong.

Well it wouldnt be the first time I was told I was doing something wrong, my wife says that to me all the time. I have had to change pinion gears a few times when I got a little "free" with the auto function

EVERY major manufacture, and distibutor of airsoft rifles will tell you that increasing the rate of fire will drastically reduce the longgevaty of your rifle. IMO there is 0 need to have that kind of ROF, while Im not one to preach semi only, 15-20RPS is more then enough. Running 30 will do nothing but have you opening your gear box on the regular.

If a part is going to fail at 10k cycles I will do it no matter what rps
But at 30 rps pistons get changed regularity lol

Faster motion means more G-forces on the turnarounds, and increased stress on the pinion gear at the very least. Increased stress means it'll not last its full estimated 10k cycles.
