The campaign against the cartels has lead to many human rights abuses in the southern portion of the country. Seeing an opportunity for revolution, a leftist separatist group, the People’s Revolutionary Army, has engineered a movement for independence in south. Ground zero of this war is the oil rich port city of Salina Cruz.
Mexican troops are now challenged to stop the revolutionaries and the narco-insurgency. Caught in the middle of this war are a group of American private military contractors and consultants accused of assassination.
