my answer is simply why the hell not.

I like your thinking.

At any rate, the faster you go, the more it will cost. Not just in initial parts, but in keeping it running. The faster it runs, the faster it can wear out.

My thoughts are that this sport "airsoft" is different from paintball in the realism. Of course it can only go so far with plastic pellets, but i like to keep up with the crowd too (decent sized mag 120rd mid caps and decent rof of 18rps). If you go too realistic with 30rd real caps and 13rps you will have an unrealistic disadvantage.  Just my 2-cents.

hahaha hell yeah!
This is very true, i have to replace the bushings about every other month, because they just egg out them axle holes, even the ceramic ones arnt that great. but i tossed in some 9mm ball bearings a few months back and there going danm strong. Untill the awaited bearing explosion happens haha, it'll be fun.
but i tend to take it apart every few weeks to relube everything, Espessially with the added g forces from it cycling that fast it just throws the grease right off the gears. But in all reality its as unreliable as i thought it would be.

my main price increase was the bb's id go thru, talking 2 bags a night, or close to 4 900 round fat mags per game,
wich i will also add the echo1 fat mags feed great at 70 bbps, im extreamly happy with them

What brand bushings are you using that you have to replace them, ever? Ive never had to replace a set of systema or guarder bushings, or even matrix brand, running 400fps in all my aeg's or even my 550fps DMR. Something doesn't seem right...

It's a dsg setup....  It's a much stiffer spring.

DSG guns are a whole new beast, as I am learning first hand. Just broke a piston head last weekend before I even got a chance to shoot anyone. I too, am running the modify bushings(7mm). Will see how long they hold up for me. I'm only hitting 46 rps though. I think my G&P M160 motor is the culprit, always something in the quest for speed. lol.

i got mine setup with a martix magnum motor, it seems excellent lol but i am also running the  20:15 dsg set.

My current setup is, G&P 9mm ball bearing bushings matrix magnum motor, 20:15 cyclone set, shs purple metal toothed piston, short stroked, and lightened with a modify PC piston head, 3/4 inch spring spacer and m170 spring.
With custom mosfet. On a 7.4 35c its around 45 rps, and with a 11.1 40c 5000 mah its 73.33 rps.

there defanatly somthing different, the Stresses on the internals are pretty extreme. and even finding a good barrel to go with the setup. there defanatly alot of fun to work on

Hmm, I wonder if my 14.09 ratio dsg set it too tall since it is a dsg not a standard set. I'm thinking I'll drop in a different motor first to see what happens. Much simpler than swapping gears. I've been needing to invest in a proper battery as well. Only running 11.1v 25c at the moment.

that would be the way i would go, if you have tooth #1 removed and half of #2 and all the others that should be short stroked, you should be able to run pretty much any battery you can think in there, Iv yet to max out the cyclic rate on mine, I was thinking of getting a 14v lipo. But i think its a little retarded with rof at the moment.
if it was me i would try a battery first, alot of the aeg motors now, can handle some serious voltage, and alot of them like the matrix magnum are kinda sluggish, untill you stick a shit load of juice onto them

check out ebay for some cheap battery packs, I got a few 40c's off there for like 11 bucks with free shipping.

Yup, short stroked and removed #1 and enough of #2 to prevent pre engagement with AOE corrected. I'm using an SHS blue high speed piston with metal teeth. I have RiotSC modified M110 short spring and spring guide spacer in my setup. Was hitting 360fps with 363mm barrel last I checked. I double checked my shimming when I replaced the piston head recently and that is still fine so it has to be battery or motor.

Haha, if you are hitting 73 with an 11.1v lipo, I'd be scared to see what happened if you connected a good 14.8v lipo to it. Can you say 90+ rps?
