I would say Echo 1. Reasonably cheap, what is metal on the real gun...is metal. VERY solid. I had one for years and traded it recently. Easy to work on, held up well.

CA has some issues, Marui has a good hop up...

The G&G would be good too.....if they ever release it lol

IMO echo 1's are just rebranded guns with a higher price tag. CA's tend to have weak internals while having good bodies. Vise versa with TM's. I just ended up buying a KS P90 from evike. I did a few things to the gearbox and has held up well with a 11.1 lipo. The body has held up well also. Haven't had any issues with the hopup either. My only gripe about the P90 is the design more than the brand is the double trigger. But a way to solve that is taking the metal rod out and wrapping some tape around it to decrease trigger pull.  Oh and high cap magazines are garbage. Mids are the only way to go.

Depends on what you're planning on upgrading and how much you're willing to spend, really. An E1 or CA (pro-line NOT sportline) is the way to go in my opinion.

A little off topic, but I wonder if they'll ever release a GBB P90.... That'd be so freaking awesome. As long as it's not made by WE, I'd buy it.

echo 1 proline is decent. Thing i have found that all P90s have in common is crappy outsides. They just plain fall apart you can name whatever you want and anyone who fields them as their main has cracks in the body. Personally while i think full upgraded they look cool they cost the same if not more then a good aeg to make it on par with any field aeg.

I own the proline and let anyone who wants to use it use it at my field cause honestly i dont really care about it got it free for putting back togather 2 guns for a kid that had a gear box and peices
