6.23 Wide Bore Barrels
« on: April 12, 2012, 05:29:29 PM »
Has anybody used one of these yet? I've heard good things from retailers, but nothing from end users.

For Aeg's they are great. For Gas like snipers and P*'s they are not.

But your favorite P* retailer recommends them for your gun.
(I asked if anybody has used one, and you have not, unless you never told me about it) :P

I don't see how this could help? A wider barrel? makes no sense to me

These are very interesting. Is there any reason why they would be good in AEGs and not gas guns?

same theory as my hop up modification. bastards are getting close haha

with the correct bucking the bb will actually float down the barrel on a cushion of air, Actually riding the top of the barrel like a bowling ball.

Like said it reduces the Bounce of the bb as it travels down the barrel, causing less variations as it exits the barrel. if the bb contacts the wall on eather side as it exits the barrel, it causes variations in Accuracy.

if the bb's do not touch the walls of the barrel it creates higher fps, and and more accuracy because the friction, wich is the general theory there using with these barrels.

Bigger bore barrels used to be "the thing" for bolt actions. because the way the hopup bucking is designed.

they will work perfect in any gun just needs the right setup

I'd be too afraid to mess up my current setup just to try it out.  I was getting kills at 300ft+ at Papago the other week... and I'm using a P* with a 6.01mm barrel.

Hi there everyone. 8)

This is Kurtis from Amped Airsoft.  We were actually just checking out our hits on our review site and saw that this topic was active haha. I just wanted to stop in and answer any questions you may guys may have about the ORGA barrel and/or PolarStars.

As far as the ORGAs go, I personally used to run the following barrels:
Prometheus 300mm 6.03mm Barrel
PDI 509mm 6.01mm Barrel
PDI 375mm 6.01mm Barrel
PDI 375mm 6.05mm Barrel

I heard of ORGA's barrels and decided to get three of them to try out a couple months ago.  Upon swapping them, I noticed an increase in overall accuracy and performance.  A week later I signed on with them and became the first retailer in the US to offer them. 8) We currently highly recomemnd them and have sold quite a few.  Customer reported similar results and were very happy with the barrels. I tend to only want the best in my personal guns if that says anything about their performance.

Now I am not saying that the PDI 6.01s or other barrels are inferior to the ORGAs, but they do have overall more accuracy with the same range.  They do however travel to their target slower due to the FPS loss... however, since I am using P*s for this type of platform, I can adjust the nozzle to make up for this difference making them a very awesome force to be reckoned with on the field haha. The people we play with are now to a point where they go the opposite way when they hear our guns from a distance... sorta sad. :-/ haha.  My CQBR setup that I am running for outdoors is producing 420 FPS at 120 PSI on a silver nozzle with my current setup. As you can see I am able to compensate for the FPS loss by utilizing different nozzles.  8)

Anyways, I definitely recommend the ORGAs and I also recommend using .40s in any P* setup for the best performance.
My personal P* setups run the following:
Prowin Hop Unit (Used to run Prometheus Units)
Prometheus Soft Bucking
FireFly Flat Nub (Used to be H-Nub)
ORGA 6.23mm Barrel

Currently we are working with P* to produce a part that will hopefully allow us P* users get more range when using higher FPS... just waiting for them to give me a prototype of the part. 8)

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.  You are welcome to email us at sales@ampedairsoft.com or call us at 724-366-6590.
Hope this helps with any questions you may have.

Thanks again everyone for all the support,
Kurtis

I have heard good things about 6.02mm barrels. Just make sure the business end has good tapering.

No problemo.  8) I understand haha... I typically find things that I hear work but make no sense and have to see for myself.  Typically my instincts on getting product in to try out get the best of me when trying to find the perfect setup... lol  Sometimes it pays off haha.

If there are anythings that you guys are curious about or want to see us test out, please feel free to let us know.  We will then try to put up a preview or review on our review site: http://reviews.ampedairsoft.com

More to come in the near future!
Thanks guys,
Kurtis
