I think everyone's getting a little carried away with the age limit thing. Yes, sometimes the little kids at Vanguard can suck. However, especially for a field just starting up (if this actually came to fruition), they're gonna need all the beginning revenue they can get, no matter who it comes from. I say start off completely open to anyone, and then as things settle down and you start to see more of a regular customer base on a fluid basis, then you can start implementing things like "adults night only" and that kind of thing. You don't want to instantly cut off a potentially large section of your customer base right off the bat though... not good for business.

Keep in mind, this is coming from the viewpoint of an adult. I am still a complete supporter of having an 'adults only' type of deal at a field, but not 100% of the time, and certainly not right as the field opens. I'd rather deal with kids some of the time than have the place close down.

Completely true~

not 18+ only, but have an 18+ night, where the games can be somewhat more aggressive and not have to worry about trampling little ones overs

The flip side of this is that by having an adult-only night, you potentially gain the customer base of players who are sick of dealing with the shit at Vanguard, and won't show up to a new indoor arena because "it's just going to be another VIP with all those damn kids cheating all the time". So it could go either way, and unfortunately I don't think you can predict which way it'll swing beforehand, you'll just have to wing it and hope you choose the right option.

And just for clarification, I'm not hardly saying it should be 18+ all or even most of the time. I know there's a lot of perfectly honorable minors who airsoft, and I'd love to see them get in with the adults even on 18+ nights, but there needs to be some way to weed out the cheating little kids every so often so the rest of us can have some real fun. And I also realize that cheating little kids are a huge source of income, so you can't even throw them out entirely and expect to make rent.

Although on the upside, on an 18+ night I wouldn't feel too bad about body-checking someone with a riot shield because he was on the other side of the doorway I'm storming.  ;D

Derp. The point of any business is to be in an ideal location for your business to thrive. Now for an airsoft field the ideal local is an area with the highest number of near by player that would be attending the field. therefore increasing sale chances and income. giveing the business the best chances to succeed.

IMO as central PHX as possible would be best, Us here on the west can drive 20minutes and those over on the left can drive 20minutes. (yes I know that in central PHX area east vally commute would be longer w/e)

there are barely any AA people down there but the area itself is usually pretty rich with airsofters. a buisiness might have a good chance of surviving in tuscon. now opening a feild somewhere like pennsylvainia, thats a bad idea. there are not many airsofters there

Either way, I keeping my reserves until we see the funding... Seeing as Genocide is 17, where is the budget? start-up is going to be at very least $20,000 (going off of my previous expeirence in New England. might be lower here though seeing as property is cheaper here, but IDC) This isnt a cheap thing, hence the reason there arnt fields everywhere. also as stated before, getting permitting from state and town will be a long process so dont expect anything this year.

yes, I am very skeptical, but if this proceeds and we see funding and permits then you have my full support.

Lol.... Headhunter there are a lot of airsofters down here, I just post more than the rest of them. Ever heard of the Desert Hawks or the 49th Commandos? Or the Tucson Airsoft Coalition. All of those Sasco games are usually set up by one of those groups.

Either way I'm only ever at Fightertown when I'm home in Fountain Hills on certain weekends. I'll have my car down here for the summer and after, so I'll be able to come out with you all more often.

I remain a skeptic as well, but if this starts coming together I'll help out how I can.

Oh, I'm skeptical of this happening too, simply because it's a very expensive project in a shitty economy, but it's not like I'm investing money into the project just by sitting here and spitballing with you guys. I'm not buying tickets to the grand opening just yet, but I would love to have a good indoor field closer to the west valley than Vanguard.
