intratec AB-10 fix
« on: September 25, 2012, 11:01:52 PM »
I and doing some work on an AB-10 for a friend and wanted to know if anyone has figured out how to fix some of the jam problems. I have heard that from the factory they can be crap but if you tune it the work well. Any help would greatly be appreciated. also off the wall question is there any law on modifying the lower (dimpling for more grip) and adding a rail mount to it. Or can I just do it and never have issues with state or federal?

I had feeding issues with My Kimmel AP-9 (similar pistol) Try cleaning the ejector and re-tightening it.  Also be sure to pull the bolt back and then just let it go forward with out any assist (When firing). When I try to push mine forward manually it jams. There are no laws when it comes to changing the grips and you may be able to get a houge slip on grip to fit.

Stippling the lower for more grip is completely legal, it only goes into shady territory if you physically add a forward grip. And speaking of forward grips, some guns (I don't know for sure if this is one of them or not) are known to misfeed if you hold the magazine while shooting them, so that might possibly be part of your problem?

thanks for the help guys. I have done some more research myself and it basically said check extractor, feed ramp and recoil spring. But still one question remains will I need a permit or anything to attach a rail for optics to it. I dont think I would but better safe than sorry. Also anyone got a 50rd mag for sale for the ab-10?

No no, rails and optics are completely legal, they're quite common in competition "race guns". The only two illegal things I know of that you can attach to a pistol are a foregrip and a buttstock.
