Oh hey, look. Another build thread by Yours truly:
... I think I work too much....
Alright so I've had this project on hold for quite some time now, but now that the howitzer is completed, Im going to go ahead and finish this one.
A vortex block uses a circular motion to expell high amounts of BBs using some type of gas(air). BBs are(usually) stored and fed from a large hopper, making guns more like a machine gun. Typical rounds per second(RPS) are around 60-70 but that number is easily brought up to the 100's range.
I am planning on using my hpa setup I have for my Polarstar; that way I can still get adjustable fps along with other factors.
The hardest thing to get/make in this build is only one part; the vortex block. I was lucky enough not to have to cut it out of a solid aluminum block, or mold it out of auto body filler(although both options work). My block is made from a 3D printed plastic material. Everything else is just pvc piping and fittings. The trigger mechanism consists of a air gun for a air compressor. Very easy and cheap to find. The last thing to remember is the inner barrel. I just used a 600mm inner barrel(thanks to Warlord) and will secure it inside the pvc with plastic O-rings.
Should be done with the gun by this evening.
