WE-Tech XDM Compact issue
« on: August 30, 2014, 10:17:02 AM »
I recently purchased WE-Tech XDM Compact. Out of the box it shot great! Except for this:

Upon firing the gun, when the slide blows back, the plastic gas nozzle/BB loader stays stuck in the inner barrel. The gun ends up firing as though it has a full-auto mode, or simply blowing back and being unable to fire again until the slide gets pulled back a second time (loading an additional BB).

I have read that there is a fix for this that involves some light filing, however I did not understand  the article because I'm no pro at terminology (this is my first GBB pistol). I don't want to deal with the hassle of returning the item to the online retailer.

Anyone know what to do in this case, or have advice? Should I just try to return it, or is there a simple fix that I can use?

Thanks gabetempe! Fixed!

NOTE: Any XDM users attempting this fix, the video says to punch out a rod at the rear of the pistol. At least on the XDM Compact 3.8 there is none: the dimples at the back of the gun are cosmetic and made of thin plastic. Instead, you must remove the grip to reveal a small phillips screw. Once removed, the rest of the instructions on the video can be followed with little to no problems.

Notice how my new XDM has even newer holes punched near the hammer.

Be certain not to touch anything else unless you are very familiar with gas pistols. Otherwise, you're gonna have a bad time.
