Has anyone been to a Blacksheep event to answer my question? I was wondering if they provide water for refilling hydro packs and such or if you need to bring a gallon or two with you. Just curious thanks :)

I can't answer your question, but I never depend on anybody to provide water for me. Just go to the grocery store and pick up a few gallons for $0.60 - 0.80 each and bring them with you.

Based on past events, you are typically expected to bring your own water. Just bring a gallon or two and a case of bottled water and you should be good.

Thanks Dayton and Shdsteel for the response. Honestly, looking back, I can't believe I even asked this question. Maybe a better question would be something along the lines of: So it is a 24-hr OP, does this mean basically you have your HQ/Staging area and your squad is sent out on missions and then you go back to the staging area after a bit? Or are there extended missions where you'll need to bring a ruck or at least some extra supplies? Is this a bring a pup tent and sleeping bag type thing or will there be not as much time for that?

Still kinda feel dumb for asking some of these questions cause I feel like when they get answered, I'll get that, "well that should have been painfully obvious," kinda feeling that I got from my last question on this thread lol.

Philosophydaddy, you will need to bring your own water, since you will want to be self reliant, but that said, there was ample water at the last one I attended.

There will be an HQ with a safe zone set up for re-whatever, including sleep, but it is entirely up to the individual squad as to how much time is spent there.  The ideal is to only go back when you REDCON out from casualties, grab ammo, water and snacks then head out again with what you will need for the next few hours.  We ended up holding down some buildings and rotating watch/patrols and dozing for a few hours, but other guys went back and racked out, while others went all night long.

As far as loadout goes, lighter is better.  Having learned a thing or two last time I will be packing ammo, water, electrolyte and/or energy chews, jerky/trail mix.  I'll have a gear bag back at HQ with fresh socks, gold bond, warmer clothes, a meal or two and spare gear etc.

Arcane, thanks for the overview. That is exactly what I was looking for. That gives me a better idea of what to expect, how I should think about packing, etc. Definitely gonna try and get out for this one on Alpha company lol.

Shoot Right/IASS 3 gun will be on location and we are going to have a full 3 gun course setup, come and give it a try.

They are looking into having a mobile food vender come out for breakfast, dinner & supper and sense we can not have open fires to cook on.
