I love my real steel 700. 18+ years old and still looks great.

It would be nice for a collector piece.  I can't see much use for the take down feature in Airsoft other than transporting it.  I remember the nut job in the original Dirty Harry movie had one of these.

There's actually a guy who does this kind of thing. I saw an old Winchester M70 in something like .458 or some other insanely monsterous round that was made this way for taking large game in Africa. A real nice piece of equipment, that was. [:D]

Just saw this on arnies and decided to repost for those who don't frequent their news section:

Tanaka is making a version of their m700 that detaches into two separate pieces with the use of a lever, allowing for it to be (possibly) carried in a briefcase.  

Not really a big milsim item, but for scenario games/assassin games, it would be quite cool.
