I remember Trisian saying he had to have the orange flash hider on his gun to get it on the plane.  I have an extra orange flash hider if you want to borrow it Ed.  I guess you'll need to call the airline and ask for sure.

I don't think you need to do that.  Just treat them as if they were "real" firearms.  In other words, put them in a lockable hard case for travel, and keep magazines out of the case.  If they ask, just tell them that they are replicas.  If you're concerned about legality, you're going to have to remove the trademarks.  The "blaze orange barrel" is only a law regarding moving an item across the border with the intent on selling it.

Also remember that advice on the internet is worth only as much as the paper it's printed on.  You can quote me on that.  [:D]

I was mostly concerned with saying they are firearms then someone looking and seeing that they are select fire and saying they're class 3 and wheres my class 3 paperwork etc.

That's why I think you need the orange flash hider if you declare them as toy or replica guns.  Call the airline just to be certain Ed.  It's their's and the FAA's regs which are not the same as shipping a gun through the post office or UPS.

Ed, just ship them to the location, I shipped my M4 and G18C down from Oregon to Arizona with $1200 insurance for only $40 from UPS, it was shipped ground and got there in 4 days.  Box them up and have it ready to ship and nobody will hassle you.  Hope this helps!

Hector's advice is the best, Ed. Pretty sacry thinking about the TSA morons concluding you have an automatic weapon.

I was going to suggest the same.  I shipped a sniper rifle and a ghille to california for 35 bux.

It might be worth the extra time and money not having to deal with morons....

I would ship them, but there is noone or no address to ship them to. I am going to call the airlines today and ask them about it. If I get a bad feeling I just won't take them. Thanks guys.

You could just ship them to yourself and have them held at UPS or FedEx for pickup.

Declare em at the counter and have them in a hard plastic cases.  I had a the soft tactical type and they wouldnt allow that.  Otherwise you can call em.  Or dismantle down to the pieces.

Ed, You can pack your AEGs and pistols as you would a regular firearm (locked case and declared).  Just tell the ticket agent and the TSA personnel that they are replica weapons.  They will treat them as real firearms as long as there is not any gas in the mags.  Don't try to explain what airsoft is to the TSA.  I have taken about six trips in the last two months with my GBB and AEG's without any difficulty.
