Wow! That sure was quick! You just posted about this yesterday?! Anyways, it looks sweet, and with a camo paint job, it will look even better. Keep up the good work, and keep us up informed.

<br />Heres a FPS/Spring ratio site http://filairsoft.com/airsoft103.htm.

The only thing wrong with that page is that it doesn't tell you what length barrel they used to come up with those figures.  A change in barrel length will add or decrease your fps by around 7fps per inch.  So if they used an M4 length barrel, (14 inches) and you want to apply this to an M16 length barrel, (20 inches) you're going to end up over what you want to acheive.  Then there's the hit or miss factor that is the unknown element.  Not every gun will chrono the same even if it has exactly the same parts in it.  I've seen some M4's chrono over 400fps with the exact same parts that other guns end up shooting at around 370 or 380fps.  It's all trial and error.

building an SR 25 or SR 16 right under 500 fps
« Reply #24 on: June 13, 2004, 11:00:27 PM »
Ok guys, I am selling the Aps2 and building a SR25 or SR16 I have all the outer parts of the gun. now I need the heart and soul of it,
what is the best way to get to my 490-500 goal
what spring? what other mods? I have a line on a CA and a TM right now both stock, I would rather get the CA due to the metal reciever.

bushing or bearing? cylinder?
I would like to keep the gear box build down to under 300.00

advise or a good website would help out

Thanks In advance guys
