"The shows will be presented by MoveOn Pac, the electoral arm of the liberal interest group MoveOn.org, with an official announcement expected Wednesday."

MoveOn, the brainchild of billionaire George Soros, a noted anti-capitalist (who isn't even American) who made his billions in the international currency speculation market. There's a turnaround, eh?

Soros is a anti-capitalist?  Lol.  Yeah, right dude.  Liberal, yes, anti-capitalist...hardly.  In addition to being a capitalist himself, it should be noted that George Soros has given away nearly $5 billion to promote democracy in the former Soviet bloc, Africa and Asia.

I find it a bit amusing.  It's not going to affect things one way or ther other.  No one will say...  "oooh, the Dixie Chicks (or Eddie Vedder) hates Bush, so I think I'll vote for Kerry too."  The only ones who will support a "concert" like this will be hardcore fans of the groups/singers who could care less about politics, and those who are already strongly anti-Bush.  It would be the same if it were an anti-Kerry thing.

Just my $0.02.

i actually dont agree with that paco.  look at kids.  they tend to follow the herd.  opinions given randomly by rockers and athletes become memes that the young wannabess follow.  what to wear, what to eat, what to drink, how to act, how to say things...   it all comes from the celebs.

i agree with Pen on this one... kids are dumb and generaly uninformed.. they listen all too much to actors and musicians.  The can easily be swayed the the crap that these people spew from their mouths, since they dont educate themselves and form tneir own opinions.  One of my fav. bands this year put out an album that was all anti bush themed.  IT was odd since they had never done anything liek that before.  Did i buy it?  no .. no i didnt.. i downloaded that cd and have only listened to it once.  The music is good, but hte lyrics are all propganda.  Will folks form an opinion from listening to it?  sure some will... but some wont.  Its those that will that are the real problem.

You guys are on this as if 16 year olds are going to be out voting...  18-22 yr olds (I'm going to assume that you're referring to 18-22 yr olds as "kids" - lol) already have a liberal leaning.

I think GWB will win the election in November by a comfortable margin - just my feelings.

I agree with ya about Bush Paco... and yes im refering to the 18-22 crowed as kids.. cus they are.. hell i am and im 26.  But teh fact is most people i knwo of that age generaly feels they have their own opinion, all the while they sit infront of the TV watching Rock The Vote and biased crap like that. THey come away from all this thinkgin they know the facts, and thinking they have formed their own educated opinions about the issues, but its all still been fed to them real nicely.  Now im not making a blanket statment about EVERYONE in that age group.. the problem is that there are actualy people in that bracket that DO form their opinions from this ****... for BOTH sides.  Im NOT saying its just liberals.. im saying its both sides... they know it sways the kids, and thats why they do it.

I'm not seeing anything substantial here.

He's written numerous things opposed to American policy and economics.  The irony is that he is opposed to the capitalist system (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846), while being one himself.

Yes, he's not an American, but he personally pours billions of dollars into the country to create political ads.  You obviously took this as some kind of ethnocentrism on my part. You misunderstood me.
