Why the hell would you want a black vest? You might as well paint your entire gun blaze orange and get a hunters vest....

If I were you, I would get something modular. Unless you really know what you want, which it doesn't sound like you do, you should go with something that you can mess around with until you get it just right.

If you're limited on funds, spend the money you have on USGI ALICE gear until you can save for something decent.  The SOTech Rifleman's vests are nice. Heck, even a Blackhawk vest...but not Miltec, Tac Force or other stuff that will fall apart after a few outings.

If you're doing LEO airsoft simulations, black is fine.  Otherwise, I'd get OD or Coyote/Dark Tan.

Krylon is your friend, assuming you can get someone over 18 to buy it for you. ;)

Finally,

Who the heck washes their gear?  It's SUPPOSED to get dirty.  Just bang the mud off it with a stick (like a rug or something), then be on your way....

PM me. Vietnam is my specialty. Can't stand when I see guys wearing ALICE stuff while attempting to portray Vietnam[:P]! Anyway, seriously, if you have any questions regarding gear, I've been collecting and reading up on it, and reenacting for awhile[;)]!

Tac Vest
« Reply #20 on: September 13, 2004, 02:15:39 PM »
Ok, I'm in need of a good Tac vest.  I need one that can hold both Mp5 and M16 style mags, cause I don't want to spend a fortune on extra pouches.  In addition, some extra pockets and a radio pouch are necessary.
I am going to go check out Millers (Tucson surplus store) to see exactly whats on their 35 dollar vest, even though I saw it just last week. But I want some options.
I though to myself, "now this is where eBay come in handy."  I found some pretty good looking vests; here are some of them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT  (this one is the same as one of the other one's, but there is a bigger selection plus a holster)

Now, I'm not financially sound right now, so this does require a bit of patience on my airsoft spending right now.  But any help here, along with suggestions of other ones in the same $ range, or cheaper (better for me right now...) would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks in advance.

edit:  Black vests are my preference.
