In similar news, ahnuld also signed a new law which says that anyone who in any way distributes copyrighted digital material must make their email address available with it. Basically, the new law doesn't make internet file sharing illegal, but it does make it illegal if you do it anonymously (ie. without an email address available). The punishment is a fine of up to $2500 and/or up to a year in jail.
After the speech he gave at the RNC, I was really loving the governator... but what the hell is he doing this month?! Between the aformentioned replica ban, the .50 ban, and now this file-sharing law, the guy has totally lost my support.
I have always kinda figured I would go back to CA at some point. I was always ok (not happy, but ok) with the wacky laws because if/when I go back I would be a law enforcement officer and the CA AWB wouldn't apply to me. However, at this rate....
