abandoned places?  Just cruise out to bushnell tanks.  Take shea blvd east to highway 87 (i think its 87, where shea ends) go left about 20 miles until you see the sign that says bushnell tanks.  Its about an hour.

Don't be a fool and play somewhere without approval from the land owners and local police.  Otherwise it's crap like that, that will outlaw airsoft here.

Yea, I live on northern and we have two houses next to eachother. we were playing at night, my friend puts his black ski-mask on, grabs his g3 and hops on the roof... we had 15 cops over within minutes... STUPID FRUITCAKE!
Moral: get approval from anyone who is within view!

P.s. An abandoned, out of site area is still ok by me :-P.

Im interested in playing at bushnell tanks with some of my friends.  Who do I talk to about getting approval (who owns the land)?

Ok, heres the story... my brother, my friend Chris and I wanted to play... it was daylight and it was my turn to find them two and tag them (just a decent game we made up) and I go outside and I look up... they're up on the roof of our second house on the corner of the two main streets. After the game, I ask why the hell they're up there and they said 'we thought youd never look' (who doesnt look there?!). So, we sit down in the house and the door rings... I get up to answer it and through the glass, I see three cops and I say outloud "Uhm, no." and sat back down and tell my friends.. they stare at me like I was lying. My dad comes in and says they wanna talk to us and so we go outside and we see 15 cops there. they took down our names (being nice because a few of the cops sons also play and its not illegal on our property) and said they had to shut down the two main streets (everyone took that as bull****) and had a police chopper (no one saw that)... and that they didnt appreciate me walking off on them.

No harm done, they said... since it was on our property and all.

Also, my neighbors a cop and he doesnt mind and I airsoft with my friends moms boyfriend which is a cop and he says its a blast.

Sorry for the long post... maybe it was too much info.

Well what do you think people on the street thought when they saw two men on the roof of a house with assault rifles?
It may be your property, but taking your guns out in public is just stupid.

This is what happens when airsofters don't bother to notify the police dept that there is an airsoft game at a location. It has happened quite frequently in other states with results being much more severe than this. It goes along with old Arnie's law and what has been passed in NJ. If this keeps up the ban will probably happen here as well.

Lesson 1. Don't platy in areas thatare in view of nieghbors or the general public.

Lesson 2. Let the police / sherrif know where the game is before you play.

Lesson 3. Get permission of all within visual range of the game.

Just my opinion.

We own the two houses and the cops said 'technically', its not illegal since its on our property.
I have no idea what he meant by technically... but we play since he said it was ok.

What ever happend to good old water gun fights on your property?  Why do you guys keep insisting one pushing the issue and possibly getting arrested or shot by some cop becasue he thought you were running around the neighborhood with a real gun?  Yes Airsoft is a BLAST and we have cops play with us a lot.  That doesn't clear you from being IDIOTS and playing stupid.  Do it right or don't do it at all.  It's crap like this that is going to ruin it for everybody.

If I'm not mistaken (which does happen frequently) it is ILLEAGAL to fire an airsoft weapon within the city limits...no matter who own the property... or something like that.

Don't mess it up for me Studder, I'm gonna be pissed!

Ummm. I don't think so. I think they're still classified as "toys" not pellet guns (thats what the cops told me anyway). But yeah, just call the sheriff or police department before you play. That way they can calm anyone who calls. It only takes a minute of your time and can save you a lot of explaining since most people don't know about airsoft. Keep it sane, keep in legal, keep it hidden[;)].

Technically it is illegal without a proper backstop within city limits (at least for chandler and phoenix).  So if your cool with tearing up the walls of your house, that's totally legal, but you shouldn't even be "technically" playing outside.  Call up the local PD and ask 'em about the rules regarding backstops... they're pretty crazy.

Well, i asked a police officer about that. It was kind of a wording thing If you call it an airsoft gun, its treated just like a pellet gun. Now if you call it something like you would call a paintball marker, its legal. Also, he said a few other things about realism.
