So did they maybe ship it without a colored tip by accident?

I wasn't accusing anyone of lying.

The point is according to the documentation it didn't bear the marks indicating that it was a toy gun. Federal law prohibits the importation of toy guns without the bright orange tip.

Redwolf gives the buyer the option if they want this removed prior to shipping but the buyer risks the item of being siezed.

For what ever reason you may have, the orange tip can be removed easily with nail polish remover. Be careful of plastic surfaces though, the paint of the gun my come off as well.

Again, Redwolf has never had a siezure because the gun looked so real as long as it has the federal mandated bright orange tip.

As for the trademarks, Redwolf uses tape and super glue to cover them up. The trademarks can be recovered by using diluted paint thinner. Apply at the edges carefully and work your way through--the paint thinner will disolve the superglue.

At one time, I was also concerned about getting my stuff swiped by customs; nevertheless, after lengthy emails and discussions, Redwolf gave me a pretty good idea what was possible. To this date I have never had anything seized. All my guns, metal bodies, RIS, etc bear all the COMPLETE trademarks.  Also, always go with the express mailing service--I can't discuss why, but its the best way to go.

I have no way of knowing if the airsoft gun in question was correctly marked with orange or not.  I did not tell Redwolf to ship it without, and I did get a full refund.  Whatever it was that happened, they made good on their guarantee.

I figure that policy enforcement on such things is largely dependent upon who is working that day.  Perhaps the guy was having a bad day or something.  Who knows.

I've ordered huge amounts of things from redwolf....several times.  i ordered my p90 (which had all markings uncovered), my friends mp5 w/ only an orange tip, a grenade launcher, carrying cases, several types of mags, my box mag, holsters, gloves, a 6' infinity, mounts, and scopes.  All these transactions were spread out over 3 different times of purchase and each went through smoothly.  I believe the mp5 took a bit of a while longer to pass customs than the p90 did because the p90 is not a commonly seen gun.  all the things i paid for i got, but for others thats not the case.  I started using redowolf June of 2004.  they do have pretty cheap prices and theres a point system but if they screw other people over (above entries) then go with WGC or a online seller in the states.
