Question about gas
« on: January 16, 2005, 05:31:37 PM »
Which shoots hotter:  Red or Green Gas?

I think I remember Red Gas pushing a BB faster, but not sure....

Only use red gas in upgraded GBB's with a metal slide and frame, otherwise, youll be looking at one broke ass gun in probably less than a mag.

There are multiple types of gas for use in Gas BlowBack (GBB) guns. Green gas is the most commonly used type. Red gas is more powerful and should only be used in guns which are built tougher (using more metal than plastic) otherwise it will quickly destroy the gun from too much pressure.  ;)

greg didnt mention the "lesser" of the gasses. The other one is HF134A, "duster" gas is the nickname i believe. Its for certain guns that cant handle the pressure of HF122(greengas).

Not always, red hits harder but you get less shots off it. Red is very temperamental, I chrono 498 with green and get 20+ shots, with red if I top it off I chrono around 430-450 for about 15 shots

Now if you give it a quick half fill with red I chrono 525-550 but only get 5-10 shots

confused....Be there done it

Most manufactures list the crono with 134, then an increased FPS if you use green... maybe it was just one site.
