I have a color scheme question
« on: January 19, 2005, 03:09:31 PM »
Hi guys I am moving to northern phoenix from Michigan around June and I want to but a new vest.  The one I have now is black.  It isn't going to do me any good out there.  So I was wondering.  Should I go with desert or OD.  I see that there is some vegetation out there and that maybe with desert BDU's and an OD vest I might be able do blend in more than with all desert.  Let me know what you guys think.

OD. This is a desert, but don't think you're moving to Iraq. 95% of the time, woodland/od gear works better. OD or woodland gear is probably a better idea because it will work well with either type of bdu. You will probably want to buy a set of 3 color desert bdu's and a set of regular woodland. Most games have a tan team and a green team, so it helps to have both. If you want to go to Operation Lion Claws IV with us, you will need current US-type woodland bdu's.

Yeah, just like greg said, OD all the way. Not to mention, it looks good with any type of camo.

OD.  If you don't want OD, at least Coyote Brown....

What part of Michigan are you moving from?

OD or Coyote brown will work anywhere.  Black works NOWHERE.  Just pick what you like most.  I have experiemented with both shades and both will do fine in this area. Rick

OD works great. As a side note I am going to be selling my OD 1-piece MAV if you're interested. Its modular. I am not selling any pouches with it but it would be a good start.
