Vests under $100?
« on: January 29, 2005, 11:42:29 PM »
I looking for a good vest. My highest priority is price, somewhere below $100. Second is fit and comfort. Any one actually owned something like this? Was it good or bad? Why? I would like modular since not really sure what gun i'm going to get.

Thx in advance,

You can get a modular vest for under 100...but then after adding pouches itll easily come over 2-300. What kind of stuff are you going to be storing?

Well I knew that it would cost extra coin of the pouches but not THAT much! I'll be using it for two things really. Airsoft and backpacking for things I need to have quick like rain pancho or map and compass. I was also looking into getting IDF vest.

Umm..an IDF vest will run you upwards of 3-400 dollars... Pouches add up quick..it would go something like this:

Modular vest panels: $80
Double m4 mag pouch: $20
Double m4 mag pouch: $20
Hydration carrier: $30
Hydration bladder: $30
Misc pouch: $20-40
It can add up really quickly. I gotta say though..for as much as the weesatch carries alone without external pouches..its worth $160...But You might have trouble fitting inside of a weesatch..even I do..

Get an LBV thats on ebay.  It says enhanced ebay, and woodland.  I have one, it's the most comfortable thing i've worn for airsoft.  Two thick padded shoulder pads, slanted mag pouches, 2 nade pouches, just need a pistol belt.  It's very nice.
$30.

I did the search for you:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 19022&rd=1
I bought from this person, got it 3 days after payment via priority mail.

These vest generaly have three pistol mag pouchs, one pistol pouch, four Double m4 mag pouch, one radio pouch, and one Misc pouch. They vary but all the tac force are $65-70!!! There is no rear pouch of any kind so if you want a water pouch of some kind you have to go buy a complet camel hydro.

There is a rear pouch on the TAC Force vests.  You can hold a camelbak bladder inside.  I liked mine (got it for like $40 someting).  Worked nicely. Rick

THX, you guys are great! :D  I'm tall but skinny, so your short and broad it might ride different on me. I have a pistol belt, but it's black. Got it before I knew that black wasn't good at camoflage. I also got an army rucksack which is quite uncomforable on me.
Dust: Thx for doing that search for me and giving me some adive about it.
Ice: Looks like a real good vest, but have you tried it. I would really like vests that you have worn that are comforable.
Thx Rick also for ur thoughs on the vests.
Busta: Even though you piss me off sometimes I got to give you some credit! Thx for the advice! (Not all your advice useless) :)

Mine did not come with a rear pouch but then again they do all very!!! Yes and comfortable to me. How tall are you I am 5-11 it was a little short for me at first then I ajusted it. You could ajust it somewhat besause of the velcro shoulders!!! The sides are also ajustable with straps!!!

The rear pouch isnt easy to see.  You sepereate 2 layers of the mesh (the pocket is inside the vest) and your camelbak can slide down in. Rick
