heres my gat "in nature"

It has a bit more tan now, but that's the only difference.

Compare it's broken-up outline with the all-black rifle in the second pic.  It works well, but you can see why I added more tan.  These were taken around this time last year, when everything was still green from rainfall.  Alot of that green will turn to brown, and my weapon will blend in much better.

If by "commando," you mean the handsome soldier, the answer is yes.

If you mean the short-barreled M4, the answer is still yes. 8)

i wont paint my guns black seems for more menacing than beige (spelling?). plus you can use a black gun with almost any uniform. desert woodland, urban etc. where as tan is primarily for desert. but for a paint job both guns look good.

Go into those environments you described with a black weapon and I will spot you nine times out of ten.

I used Tan and Brown in my gat, with a tiny bit of green, and the small ammount of black that's left.  It blends great in the areas we play.

You are right, however, in stating that some rifles just look good black!  CAG D Boys is one of them.  Knights trades, AN/PAQ4, Crane stock, and a Knight's QD suppressor - it looks good!

I found some paint at ACE that matches Coyote Brown quite well.  The color os called "Saddle Brown", and it's part of the "Home Accents" paint line.  I'm going to pick up a can, and see how it works.  I'm still looking for a color that matches Smoke Green/Ranger Green.

C, Try taking something in RG or smoke green to a paint store like ACE/home depot whatever and have them run a scan of it to see what colors match up, then they can probably find a spray paint from there.

I did that with the elastic and velcro portion of my small radio pouch, and found a color that matches CB.

I know they could mix up a matching color based on the scan, but it would be in liquid form, not in a spray can.  With spraypaint, sometimes you have to settle for something "close".

Well thats pretty much what I was saying..Close is sometimes good enough. I would like to incorporate some RG into my M4 now that I am getting a bunch of RG pouches.

Uhh...well you are doin it wrong soldier! Red dots are meant to coincide, so you keep both eyes open and see the dot in both eyes. Try it.
