You're GTG, Paul!

I just want to take it back to a happy, obnoxious, fun, and informative forum.  There's too much teenage angst flying around these days.  The younger guys are great, guys like busta, HavHav, Firehead, and CAG D to name a few.  It just seems like they are the ONLY ones posting sometimes and we don't get a  fair picture that way.

All you older guys, and young guys that have been around awhile, feel free to add your .02!  If not, it's just a bulletin board for youngin's! 8)

Us youngins have no life, for the most part. I go to school, i come home, and relax(i'm not on here 24/7, like some seem to think, i spend alot of the time gaming). Those silly youngins.

Paul...you aren't that old, you just look old :P (damn good with making lots of wierd stuff out of your seemingly useless stuff :D)

Believe or not gentlemen, I read this forum almost every day. I don't post simply because most of what I read is ridiculous trash and doesn't need a response from me. As a moderator, I have to laugh at most of what I consider "juvenile" behavior. Does it need to be deleted or moderated?? Absolutely!!! On a previous topic, a new poster named "LeftforDead" made some rather boastful comments regarding his airsoft collection and how much money he spent for it all. Most of the responses called him out as a liar. As it turns out, he was telling the truth. I say that, to say this... AirsoftArizona forums are here to discuss the game, value, merits, legal issues and whatever else we can think of, about AIRSOFT. It's not here to assassinate poster's characters. It's not here to vent our woes about our grandfather dying, or hoping someone dies sooner so we can go to a game. This kind of juvenile trash is really starting to get me upset. I'm with John. I almost want to take a vacation from this hobby just so I don't have to listen to (or read) the kind of crap that's being posted here. Once again, we'll get into the argument that some of our younger members are more mature than some of our older members. And, in some cases, that is most likely true. But taken as a whole, I'd have to say that things are probably much cleaner, more interesting and decidedly more mature without the kiddies. That being said, let the mudslinging begin.

This thread pissed me off the second I Saw it in the recent threads. "hm.".. c'mon, now. What a title..

Is this a perfect example of a cruddy thread? YEAH!

TheRev, your post kicks a**. I am only 17, 18 in may.. but I'll never make a thread like this. And if the payment for making it on a clean, crisp, mature forum is waiting till I'm 18, then so be it.. call it payment. It'd be well worth it.

It would help a lot if people actually thought about what they wanted to say before saying it. Making a post to say 'lollerfaces lol oh noes lol' is worse than childish, it's just pathetic. A better way of making a post such as this would be to say 'Hey, I'm having some troubles with my gun.' explain the problem, and ask for help. Though I am a minor, I agree with TheRev. The first step in weeding these posters out would be to ban minors. It would be nice though if before posting, we could try to at least formulate a sentence instead of throwing together 4th grade grammar and random words. Of course these are things you all know.. I'm just ranting. Just try to hold off posting until you have something reasonable to say.

Well Curtis you bring up a great point, it might weed out the majority of idiocy if the forums were not opened to minors. Here comes a list of problems and instant conflicts; the first one being obvious…There are a lot, if not just as many, halfwit retards that are 18+. (Were already getting into the age old debate about minors again) But a lot of the guys that are posting stupid, moronic, and insulting things are simply being, well, mean! And I admit I am probably the worst one around here about it, simple as that. Yes guys, I’m a nard bashing nard myself. Though I may not be a sarcastic and rude person in real life, I am on here sometimes. Hell a lot, especially in the last few months. I’ve noticed a lot of change since AZSarge left. There is a lot less respect flying around these boards, it’s not just the stupid “kiddy postersâ€￾ and people that cannot spell, it’s the level of respect everyone has for each other around here. The level of respect I see is one only matched by a power-ranger-loving 6 year old.

To address the issue of respect, first I believe we need to find out where we went wrong. When Christian and other authority figures left, the forums went to crap. A handful of people, yes even me, took a huge part in this. Harley took a big vacation until recently, and then seemed to go away again after just a few dozen posts. I think that one of the problems is the lack of enforcement around here. I know there are only a few moderators, and that’s good, but you don’t even have the check and mod the forums more often, just start laying down the rules. If you are being an ass, you should have your account suspended for a time. You probably won’t do it again and would think twice about posting now wouldn’t you? :P

Another problem is…of course…AGE! Go ahead; ban all the minors, hoorah! Works for about twenty minutes until they realize they can just register a new account with a false ID and age. Then people are just lying from the start (happening a lot lately...) and that causes problems on top of problems. Personally, if I was not a minor or close to it, I would probably tell you not to do something like this. There is still hope; there ARE great players out there that are even just 14 or 15. And I would like to point one out as being Trashcan. I’ve played with him a handful of times and have always seen nothing but honor, respect, and a great attitude. He was willing to trade teams even to go up against his own team once. Now he may be a little shy & quiet but that’s ok.:P

The bottom line is that if you don’t give respect, you won’t get any back and I have learned that the hard way. I get none on here, yet in the field it’s a different story. That needs to change for A LOT of people. If you have something mean or degrading to say, just close the little browser and step away from the computer. Go do something else to take your mind off of the idiot that is pushing you over the edge. If you want to debate on these forums, go right ahead, but you should be debating the topic not the person, simple as that.

This is my opinion. You are freely open to debate it, but don’t stoop down to a level where you are cutting ME down or any other person on this forum. That’s what were trying to not do around here.

HOLY CRAP, a GOOD post from busta. Not the point.

Busta, you are right about kids just lying. The thing is, they can't participate in any AA events, or try to do anything where anyone meets them. If they do, we simply say, you're a liar, and he is gone. I'll admit, i'm not always part of the solution. Its just the internet. You can't stop the "nards" from getting on the net(well...legally).

I don't completely agree with the lack of enforcement. The admins/mods do what they can, and intervene when REQUIRED. There are some times when I WISH the admids/mods were doing something. Admins and mods do need to come down a little harder on the "nards" and such. Even if we are "veterans" of this board, do something. Delete the post, or lock the thread down. Do something besides sit there and laugh.

Studder, quit kissing arse ;)

I didn't even read bustas lenghty post, or any after that, so I am just responding to what Curtis said here.

The point is that you guys that have posted here so far, studdermonkey, firehead, busta, trashcan, etc are the ones he is talking about when he talks of "youngins".  You do not need to get upset by being that, because you are younger than the rest of us.  You guys need to understand exactly what we dislike here.  It's not the 1337 speak, the "hm" topic titles, or even the poor grammr most of you have.  It is the very meterial you post!

For example, stud's post above about getting pissed off about a thread title.  Come on!  Get pissed because others are posting trash that they don't even mean.  I may post trash alot, but I mean it and have thought it over beforehand.  Some of you younger guys post harsh things to get our attention so we will say "Good job for busting that noob!" or give you a pat on the back.  Be real and be yourself.  You don't need to kiss our ass, or get angry because a new guy makes the same mistakes you made as a newbie!

To cap it up, as far as I'm concerned we will be in great shape as long as we keep everything in context, say what we mean, do not lie, and do not post things for any reason other than to provide information.  Keep the bickering down, and save the personal attacks for in-person.  That way, you have some other means of communication (verbal and body language, expressions, etc) to judge by.

That said, I would like to see more posts from the guys I know and missed while I was away for awhile!  You guys are the reason AA exists, and your voice needs to be heard!  Don't let the forums be dominated by kids bickering, and apologizing all the time.

Another thing Id like to seriously see is a spell checker built in like over @ arnies airsoft. That way we can spend more time reading posts than trying to understand what they are saying.
