And, here, you were on a limited budget for gear you said.

How is access to that pistol with it being where it is?
Seems a bit of a wrist bender to draw it out.

Carrier looks nice though.

First off, its Tactical Tailor, not Tactical Taylor.  Tactical Taylor is this eight year old kid who has a M1 liner and thinks he's kitted out for war.  He might be your nephew, he might be the neighbor's kid.  But he thinks he's all that, but he's wrong.

Your two mystery pouches are of Battlelab manufacture.

Okay...I really don't know a lot about gear, so be patient.

Are the plate carriers basically vests, molle or otherwise, that carry ballistic plates or do they go over other vest that cover plates...

Benn, a plate carrier is a vest (molle or otherwise) that carries a ballistic plate (like a SAPI).  They are meant to be worn alone, or over a soft panel carrier.

Hoff, I'm all for chest-mounted pistols, but that angle is going to cause alot of problems.  TT makes an adaptor that allows mounting of pouches at 45 degrees.

Another option is the BattleLab 6004 molle adaptor and a 6004 holster.  I ran one of those all weekend at Irene III with great success.

Since it was mounted on a rigid platform, there was very little "slop," and it did not interfere with shouldering my rifle.

The idea is to have the pistol readily accessible for a smooth draw.  The way you have it mounted, that's not possible.  Just something to consider.

Considering that's one of the few pics of you and I in action, I apologize.

However, that pic was too large for my purposes.  Here it is in all it's glory!

I purchased a Condor II from Tim W at Practac last October.  I really like this pack and used it when I went hunting.  It is really well made even though it's from Taiwan or someplace.  It has a lot of webbing and carries a lot of gear.  It is very comfortable too....

I like that pack. If I ever did to decide to get a pack or ruck to carry gear I might end up getting a Maxpedition. Have you ever worn in over other gear at all? How does that work?

The only "rig" I have is one from CQB solutions:

I put that on first, then the pack over the straps, buckeling the small fast clip accross my chest.  It worked great.  I also wear an large Blackhawk butt pack attached to a web belt that I keep my ghille hood in.  I have a TT FRS radio pouch that I place either on the back of the pack or the front of the rig.  It all fits comfortably.

I have a couple Eagle Plate Carriers w/cummerbund in stock...small/medium in Khaki.  OD on order.  L/XL in Khaki and OD on order.  Also, have 2 CIRAS Land rigs in stock, Khaki. One Medium, the other Large.

Benn,  thanks for the kind words.  Maxpedition makes some tough gear, though I know some folks don't care for it since it's not Cordura-brand nylon, and the Teflon coating that Maxpedition uses makes their nylon stiff.

The plate suspension is very cool.

I think the lower flap should cover a separate pocket for general use, though.  For a pack this small, the easy access it affords is not very helpful.

Looks good though, and I love the PALS straps and smaller size.  It will work well for airsoft.

Finally, got my vest finished from Coyote Tactical. Used it in yesterdays game (as seen in last pic). Awesome fit and convenience for placement of pouches. Good job David!!
