NICE BLACK HARDWARE ON THAT MARAUDER DARYL

That bag was carrying bullets and underwear before you were even a tickle in your father vas deferens.  It's like, an antique, or something.

That, and I didn't pay for it so I'm not getting too emotional over the color of the plastic.

But, good job.  That's why we pay you the big bucks, dude.  :D

Did you suck Mel Terkla's dick or something? At least I bought my Marauder from his WIFE.

But at what cost, Vince, what cost...?

I got it from a dude that was over here before me.  I've merely communicated with Mel via email, and he's a great dude.

Honestly, I'd prefer one in Coyote, but it's fine.  I also bought an X-Ray in Foliage Green.  Great fuckin bag, but I just wasn't using it so I traded it for 6 HK M4 mags and 250 cash.

I have some more s*** to post, but it'll probably be after I get home and unpack.  I've already sent one giant box back, and I still have 3 more, not including my A and B deployment kit bags.

werd

I wanna trade my Marauder in MC for a Pointman or Navigator in RG.

Dude, I would toss it to Mrs. Terkla -- she was pretty fit for her age.

At least he isn't wearing rank.

Please lose the patch, though. Go buy some cool flare to replace it.

I'd recommend ditching the "US Army" tape too.  Your choice, but I try not to wear anything (besides the uniform itself) which suggests that I've done something I haven't.

Don't you think that's taking it a little far?  Maybe I would feel different if I have served, but I would wear a US Army tape to show my respect for those who have served and for that final touch on my uniform.

It's seems like we are taking this whole "you haven't earned it" thing a little far.  Don't get me wrong, I agree on rank/patch but not even US Army?  I have the absolute highest respect for those who have served but it seems to me this is a little much.  Most backyard/part sport players often wear replica jerseys of their favorite player.  Now, I am by no means trying to compare a basketball player to somebody who served, however I don't see them complaining about you not earning the jersey.

For most of us, airsoft is a sport.  All he is doing is wearing the uniform that he respects most.  I don't see why that is a bad thing.  Once again, I can understand your point of view on the rank/patch but is it possible to pay my respects to those who have served without offending them?  A good friend of mine just shipped out this week.  He has gone airsofting numerous times with me.  He could care less what you are wearing.

Plus, in this case, he's 15.  I don't think ANYBODY is going to believe him if he says he served.

I'm not trying to disrespect those who have served, it just seems to me you are being a little touchy about this.  Maybe I would feel different if I was in your situation.  But I'm not, so this is the way I see it.

I'd replace the Army patch with airsoft or something and get a team patch if you have one.

Not that i care, but some get upset with kids who wear stuff like that.  even though, when i was a kid, back in the 70's, i bought an old bdu top with patches and everything, even the wrong name and wore it.  never once got confronted.

I served and was involved in some pretty high energy stuff.  He's 15, if he wants to wear a patch thats fine, don't beat up on a kid because he is excited about the military, a specific branch, or even a specific unit.  These kids are the defenders of our old sour assed future.  Let him be motivated, don't discourage him.  He may serve, and serve honorably, might even be the next Audie Murphy for crap sake.  He won't if he feels that all vets are a bunch of bell ringing chest beating look at me an what I did bunch of knuckleheads.  I do not wear any unit marking rank or any of the insignia that I earned but that is my choice.  And in this wonderful land that we live in if he wants to role play a specific unit that is his choice.  That is what we vets all raised our right hand to defend.

Off my soapbox now....

Airsoft is a milsim, so I don't care if people wear service tapes.

It's patches you earn while in the military, like rank and unit patches, is where it gets dicey.

i have a few patches that i'd like to wear just because they are from groups that i admire and would aspire to becoming.  i don't because of this exact issue.  Is there any consensus among the veterans how one could display admiration and pride for a specific branch/division/etc without claiming inclusion or service? It could be something as simple as wearing the patch sideways, or on the bottom of the shirt or sleeve instead of the shoulder, or chest.  Obviously you're not going to make everyone happy with any idea, but is there a way not to offend "most" while showing your support and idealizations?

Thanks SARC and XavierMace. I DO plan on joining the military when I grow up. I'm not trying to say I served or anything I just thought this patch was the coolest looking one.

Let's put it this way. Think of it as going out to a military bar. If you walked in to a Marine bar with a force recon patch on your hat you can guess what would happen.

Just don't bother man, it's not worth the greif you'll get. Airsoft has more than enough patchs available, some pretty cool. Just get some of those and leave the rest to the pros ;-p

Edit: If you ever wear anything like this we'll make sure you never play Airsoft in AZ again!

That's cool man.  I just said what I would do.  I'm not going to reprimand anyone who has a different opinion than mine, and I'm not necessarily saying he's being disrespectful.  I just said that I wouldn't do it, and if someone were to ask me, I would recommend that they do the same.

That patch is from an anime called Full Metal Panic - it's cool as hell, and I just ordered it, thanks.
