If you want one that's cool. Form my experience, you don't need another one.

i understand that, but id rather carry an extra mag, that way it covers all bases. extra ammo, extra mag in case my other one goes down

SAW kitlist:
Spartan I, CB
OKC3S
M1911 Serpa CQC, CB
SDS frag, CB
SDS pistol mag pouch, CB (removed since pic, was holding a multitool which is now in another pouch)
Paraclete 4X.45 mag pouch, ranger green, with 3 .45 mags and a multitool
gemtec TRL
AITES IFAK
SDS 100 rd SAW pouch, CB, with box mag or 4 mags
specter hydration pouch, CB
scarcely half the weight of my other rig. im gonna have this as my "lightweight rig" for carrying my SAW
the bayonet there is perfect. not akward one bit. if unsnapped, i can draw very fast with either hand. on the right, it was in the way of the rifle though.

Grenadier kitlist:
Spartan II
LBTech 5X 40mm
Aites 6X mag bandolier
specter 2X mag shingle
specter triple pistol mag pouch
LBTech rhino arm pouch (for radio)
M1911 serpa with molle mount
gentec TRL
specter single pistol mag pouch (for multitool)
Aites IFAK
specter hydration pouch
has everything i need... but very heavy with those m203 shells.

We stole the Eagle from the Air Force, the Anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the 7th day, while God rested, we overran his perimeter and stole the Globe, and we\'ve been running the show ever since.

I cant resist it anymore... My attempt at a Green Side Operations USMC Loadout.  (Sorry Joe, you've seen these already!)

I've since removed the 4 Pistol mag pouches... they will be going on an AITES leg rig possibly with 2 7.62 pouches to carry the two extra M14 mags I have.  This rig also serves double purpose now as my more grunt look as I now use an M4 instead of the full M16A4.

SDS OTV
3 x SDS M16 Double Mag Pouches
4 x J-Tech M16 Double Mag Pouches (one doubles as radio pouch)
SDS IFAK
2 x SDS Grenade Pouches
CamelBak Thermobak 3L in 3 color desert
PANTAC Dumper
Blackhawk Riggers Belt
PASGT (real) w/ USMC MARPAT Cover, NVG Rhino Arm and Mount (real), cat eyes, and Sky Dex Modular Pad Suspension and Four Point chin strap
Propper MARPAT (ACU Cut... bleh)
Bates Durashocks USMC Garrison/Desert
Typical Assorted Pens/Pencils (I've got my sharpies now!)
Oakley Juliets!!!  (Not my eye pro)
Smith and Wesson Shooting Glasses
Arena Flak Jaks
Altama Knee Pads in CB

Comm Gear:
Midland GTX 28 Mile GMRS/FRS
Pryme SPM100 Handset
Pryme Clear Earpeice

AEG's:
G&G M14 Veteran shooting 378-380 fps w/ AE .25's + 9x 72 round standard mags and Magpuls
2007 ICS M4 shooting ?? (Just got it today!) with 6 x TM 68 round standard mags

With it, two triple top ACU mags. Some hi-caps and mid caps.
GI flashlight for night Ops.
Wiley X shades.

Two Goverment Issued ACU Tops.
Subdued flag patch.

Goverment Issued Trousers.

Goverment Issued Army Combat Shirt.

Goverment Issued Patrol hat and boonie. (the knee pads aren't I believe)

ESS Goggles.

Goverment Issued Camelbak.

I also have some Elbow pads somewhere. I don't really them though. I'm working on getting a MICH.

Use what works, don't change your setup unless there's a practical reason for you to do so.

Here's my project I started yesterday in an effort to make a more comfortable rig.
Pics are kinda fuzzy- taken with my blackberry.

It started as some bulky (unsure of brand) rig shown here, with all 5.11 add ons. ( they had a sale at AZTAC lol )

I removed the back part, which was too small for my neck and added shoulder straps I had laying around by sewing them to the fastex buckles.

I cut the 3 adjuster buckles off, and sewed the 2 lower parts into one fastex female end for a lower support and looped the top back to the main front strap

finished sewing all parts together, and this is what the front looks like

here is the finished simplified rig without the camelback attached

my question is, should I try to integrate the camelback I have into the shoulder straps, or just put that on first under the vest?

let me know what you think; Sexy or fugly for my first attempt at modding gear.

I'd leave the Camelback as-is from a practical standpoint. If you ever decided to use it for anything else unless you plan on buying a second one it's on your gear period.

The mod and gear looks great, the camera phone (I think) does not!
