Yes, I hate spam too (I get plenty of it in my e-mail, thank you...), but I have a bunch of legitimate (I think?) questions, and I don't want to wait. ;)

Use the Search feature, and I bet it would head off quite a bit of the questions you have...  after all, there are almost 40,000 posts here...   :)

Howdy, My name's Chip. I am an old-school paintball player. Looking for a good, interesting game with no cheaters.

Got the time to play, anywhere anytime in AZ.  I'm somewhat crippled, but still can play hard. Let's rock!

Well, -if I can scoot & shoot, and CQB and stalk and ambush, ...it doesn't need paint, just a good game.

One more time, paintball was a vastly different thing than it is today.
Guns, targets, and a good field to get it on,
I'm your huckleberry.

Er, ahem.. That sounded a little manic, sorry, too much caffiene.

Simple stats; I live about 120mi. E. of the Valley. I am semi-retired and have a wood and silversmithing shop. I used to be in Gila Co. SAR and was a EMT/FF with Central Heights FD in Claypool. I have time to get to just about any game anywhere in the Southwest.

I'll be ready to play in about 2 weeks from now. Just waiting on the new weapons...

 Hey, just got here. Referred by a friend. Played my first game with a borrowed FM P90. The thing was a piece of trash. The kid never took care of it. Anyway, Arizona native who now prefers airsoft to paintball and laser tag.
Just a question, when newbies show up on the feild for the first time do they usually get the cold shoulder or was my experience just isolated.

From my experience (being 2 games) these are all great guys. Even Busta_cap, believe it or not. Just kidding Busta.

My thoughts are, (not to say you did this) if you go into this thinking you are the sh**, you will be treated like sh**. A lot of these guys have been doing this for years. I'm sure they were new guys too. You've been to one game. It was great you volunteered to take point. But a lot of times some of your strategy may not go your way due to lack of training and consistency. You have to remember you are the NEW GUY. Make an effort to make friends. Don't expect them to run up to you and kiss your feet. Hang back and enjoy being there participating. DON'T EXPECT TO MUCH OR YOU'LL JUST DISAPPOINT YOURSELF. KEEP AN OPEN MIND!!

Go to the next game this weekend. It looks like it'll be big. We'll be the new guys. There'll be some new guys there I'm sure. I'm the guy they say looks like Tiger Woods.

Fun in sun

Forgive me, I may have made it sound worse than it was. I had fun but I can definitely say that I wasn't acting like I was the Shiznit. If anything they may have been annoyed by how many questions I was asking. I might be new to airsoft but I'm not new to this time of game. I used to do a fair amount of laser tag and paintball. Granted those experiences paled in comparison, but at the same time, it seemed that people were selling me short because they had never seen me before or something. I apologize if I sounded arrogant. Sometimes I just get passionate, especially when people act like I'm incompetent. I have no problem with following someone else into battle. No one likes to feel as though they are not getting enough credit for who they are and what they can do. I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield but, unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make it this weekend. Maybe LCIV.

Yay. Another Red Green fan! Welcome to the boards and keep coming to games - as people get to know you it becomes all the more fun. I can't say why you got the "cold-shoulder" treatment (as you put it), but don't worry about it. As was mentioned above, lots of the guys have been playing for awhile with each other, so events tend to turn into social gatherings too. I felt a little "out of the loop" at my first AA game, but never unwelcome. As for asking questions, go ahead, just try to do some research first and then ask ;) .

Word games
« Reply #115 on: May 18, 2005, 09:37:52 PM »
 In high school we used to play a game with pencil and paper during class when we were bored. We called it "bank robbers" It was a hypothetical game where we would say stuff like "you're robbing a bank and...." Then we would draw a map on the paper of the bank. The page would go back and forth kinda like that game where you have to figure out how to survive the worst survival situations imaginable.  Is there anything like that for airsoft on this forum? I think I could learn alot from the norms by asking hypothetical questions but I don't want to flood the general topic section if there are other areas to do that.

I just recently discovered this stuff- co-worker pointed me here.  The idea alone caught my interest more than pb ever did.  My schedule sucks though, don't have weekends.  Maybe if anything is happening on Wed or Thu? :? (doubt it)

So for right now I'm just sayin hello, perhaps more if I can get a regular schedule.

Hi, I know what you mean about scheduling but it's well worth every effort to find the time. If necessary, schedule time off with work. I don't know about your job now, but at my old job if you didn't use your vacation days by the end of the year, you lost them. 8)

Feel free to ask me any questions you like at a game.

Also, if anyone gives you sh*t, let me know.
