Yes, please inform us where you got them. I would like a set. They look issue, but I don't think they are issuing them yet. Looking good though.
Yes they are issuing them. An Infantry unit from the Georgia Guard just left for Iraq clad in ARMPAT and desert boots. Interceptors are still Woodland, as with the rest of the TA50, but that will all be changed before the transformation in over. Everything from MOLLE pouches to flyers coveralls (yea!) will be issued in this pattern.
After all, why spend millions on new uniforms when you are going to cover it up with the same old woodland an OD gear we've been using for the past 3 decades?
These particular ACUs (calling them that is a stretch) are far from the issue type. Some major differences are:
Shirt
-No zipper closure with velcro flap. This set has buttons like old BDUs.
-No velcro on the sleeve pockets for patches.
Pants
-Meathooks on the side waistband. Issue ACUs will be rid of these bastards!
-Button closure on the booty pockets. Issued ones will be velcro.
-Button closure on the fly. Issued ones will be zip-up, with velcro flap.
-Trouser snakes (aka tightener thingy ribbons to blouse the pants) are present. Won't be on Issue version.
And best/worst of all-extremely breathable, lightweight, and easily-damaged 100% cotton fabric! It's ripstop, which is cool, but the ones Uncle Sam gives away will be 50/50 NyCo.
