yes indeed, never did half a bag of stale  "mi Ranchitos" and a two liter of "hawaiian punch" taste so good than after my first game.

Totally agree, the last AA op (when it rained) we really tried to keep the down time to a minimum.  I don't know about other people I'm out there to skirmish, after the OP shoot the Sh*t all you want with your buddies, but I hate sitting around waiting for people to load mags while they are too busy talking.

Exactly.  I love these guys like brothers, but some times I just can't help but get bored when everyone sheds their gear and lights up a cigarette after the first round.  

Something I've done when organizing games is incorporate rolling scenarios.  Bring everything you'll need for the next few rounds, because we ain't stoppin'! 8)

I've talked to other people about this, and when it starts happening, we call the next skirmish in 5min.  Whoever to still loading mags, talking, etc. will have to wait until the next stop.  That OR we just go and have a quick 15min skirimish while everybody else is talking.

Whoever organizes these events should take this into account, 5min to load mags, middle of the OP have a 20min break for people to shed gear (extra shirts cause it was cold in the morning) or get some food and water, change batteries, etc.

know that I am getting a Russian team off the ground would anybody be bothered if we had Russian military ranks or patches of anykind? Its a little different first off they are not of our military, and in a sense if we used ones that were of pre 1989 then who would be bothered since the USSR is no longer a country......

Christian you can't even start. The times Ive played with you, you are the one whos taking 20 minutes in between or before the games. And you and your showing up late to game habits. ;)

Gentlemen, you all have made some very strong points in regards to this paticular topic.  There are so many opinions about this that an end to this debate will never come...at least not in the near future.  The very nature of Airsoft as a military simulation sport is what mainly fuels this desire for players to disply military uniforms, patches, etc...  The only issue I have a problem with is when people wear them wrong and without any respect or regard.  I agree that if you wear some sort of military patch on your uniform....have respect for it.  Don't dawn your uniform until you reach the field.  Don't walk around in public with patches.  If you have them on your BDU jacket....take the jacket  off and show respect.  Put it on when you reach the field.  And if you want to have patches...fine!  But be an adult about it and be honest.  Don't try to bullshit people.  Be honest about the patches.  And if you were to ever meet an player that WAS IN the unit you are displaying....shake his hand and thank him for his service to this country.  

I'll be honest with all of you....I to wear a paticular patch on my arm.  However this patch is not on my sleeve for the hell of it.  I don't show it to try and look "cool" or "bad-ass".  I wear it because of it's history, it's story, and mainly because my father gave it to me.  The patch I display is from my father's combat unit.  And I wear it with pride and honor.  I wear it because it reminds me of my father, and it reminds me of the history I personaly have with this paticular unit.


Please don't make the mistake of thinking that "everyone" wears military patches to try and look cool.  Because not all of us do.  Most wear them for the added realisim of the games.  And the rest of us will wear them for the same reason, but ours are a bit more personal.

I saw this suject before but thought it was to far passed to post a reply but since someone else did I thought I might.  

I am a SFC in the US Army (Active and deployed), although I do not wear any patches except Name (Tony), Tm name (CRASH or TACCON) and the US or Texas flag on my airsoft costume, I like to see other Airsoft hobbiest wear the most accurate unifrom they can peace together.  Two reasons, one is it makes me feel good (I have seen grown men wearing the exact same badges and patches on their Airsoft costume as I wear to garrison work), and the other is alot of time these guys or gals do alot research on the topic.  As for the police thing, proper respect and safety considerations should be take.  I am setting my wife's costume up as a SWAT style get up, and it will probalby say SWAT, given we live in Japan, I don't think it is a huge deal.  She really digs the whole kicking door stuff so why not let her pretend .

I like the idea of having military ranking patches. To me i feel a lot cooler with them on and like in the post before me it lets people do a little research on the subject.
