soo... how 'bout that Jungle Toy in Tucson....?
« on: March 12, 2005, 09:07:48 PM »
I have to wonder... what ever happened to the alleged Jungle Toy store being opened in Tucson?  Any news at all?  From what I heard, the plan earlier this year/late last year was to have it open... well... now.  But i haven't heard anything about it.  Location?  Date?  Estimates?

We're still looking for a location in the areas that you guys requested, that isn't outrageously expensive. We nearly finalized a deal on a spot over on Roger and Oracle, next to Blockbuster Video, but the landlord was being a bit unreasonable so we stopped negotiations. Don't worry, we haven't forgotten you, it's just taking longer than we expected. Why is right down there higher than our Phoenix and Tempe stores combined!?

darn on the other side of town. move into a place near central tuc. no advantage for anyone. hell theres land for sale near Tanque verde & houghton. yes its just outside city limits. but its too far for other players to drive to this location.

*hurry up and build the JT shop!!.

i guess tucson's just not the cheapest place for businesses if they're looking for a spot in a decent part of town.  ;)

i know that a skateshop on Campbell, between Grant and Glenn just closed recently (used to be TSE boardshop), and theres no sign of the building being re-occupied (been signs up for 3 months that say "we've moved _____").  The store is a decent size, and  seems like it would be perfect for a JT.  maybe check that out?

Any idea why they closed? Maybe it was too expensive to keep that location?  ;)

How long of a drive are you talking? I'm sure it's still WAY closer than driving all of the way into Tempe...

I'm taking a look at locations this week, and contacting some real estate agents; post in this thread if you have any more ideas where I should continue searching.

no, i believe that they needed a new, larger location.  after all, they moved from campbell to the UofA campus.... thats a slight jump in real estate prices.  heheh.

lets see.... i think that there was a knife shop that closed in a "shopping plaza" on campbell and prince....  it was called "sharp stuff".  they closed for good, because they're stock was horrible.

Frankly, a store ANYWHERE in Tucson would be preferable to driving to Phoenix.  So you guys just find a reasonable place, that's all I ask.  ;)

Is there any retailers other than JT around the valley? I've never heard one good thing about JT before and many people on other Airsoft sites have had guns broken by JT staff. Is their any other retailer?
