Um, I just bought an ICS standard M4A1 from Jungle Toy. But I just saw an M4A1 with the gearbox there. Try JT

I purchased one about 3 weeks ago. Mine has the R.I.S. with retractable stock. This is my first AEG so I really don't have much of a comparison. But from what I have experienced I LOVE IT! I've upgraded to the 100m spring, tighter barrel and mounted a 3300 battery in a battery pouch that straps to the stock. From all the reviews I've read (S.W.A.T.) it does pretty well. I have no complaints.

evike.com. $99.99. Then click on upgrades. These guys are good. Very reasonable prices. Thats where I get all my parts. One thing that I'll let you know about my experience with the ICS upgraded upper gear box. I purchased the whole upgraded top end assembly w the 120 spring. It seems to not fire the BB as fast as my stock assembly with just the 100m upgraded spring. You can tell the spring is stronger by the sound it makes when it fires. Upon inspection after firing a couple hundred rounds. I noticed paint mixed with the silicon oil. The upgraded metal piston is painted. The layer of paint may be holding the piston from moving smoothly. When you install it let me know what you think.

Thanks for the info. I will tell you that if you go from an M100 to an M120 with the same voltage battery you WILL see a noticable slowing of your rate fo fire.

Yea, I relize with a stronger spring you need a stronger motor. The rate of fire is fine. Its the speed of the piston moving forward to propel the BB out of the barrel. The motor should not effect speed of the piston when released to fire.

Thanks for the tip.

If you go with a different motor. Let me know what success you have. Really curious on that. Plus the guys at Evike.com should be able to answer your questions. They're honest to let you know which upgrades you need and nothing more (if you ask). Hmmm....maybe I should give them a shout.

Good luck.

Nope sorry buddy your wrong..... You need a higher voltage battery. A "Stronger" motor is not going to do anything if you dont have enough juice to push it over....

That's exactly what Justin, my brother did to his M4a1. He got the upgrade and the motor. Now, he needed to pay extra for the battery, which doesn't last more than 4 games, so he needs to 1. pay extra AGAIN to get the stock motor 2. Or get another battery.

Just like SAD to say upgrade the motor as well, "you need it".. now we know better!

Ok...I already have a 9.6volt 3300mah battery pack. Are you saying you need a 10.8volt battery pack to power the upgraded motor with the M120 spring?

Are you catching all this Victor3? Sorry, I don't mean to hi-jack your thread. You may already know all this. But it' good info for any future reference.
