Ambitious Project
« on: April 16, 2005, 12:35:03 PM »
well i pretty much have every concievable uniform and camo set i ever wanted. but there is one last camouflage pattern that has had my attention since i was a twelve year old kid playing with gi joes. the WW2 german Splintertarn. i was thiking about one last uniform i could put together using this unique pattern, that would satisfy my taste for a ww2 based unifrom. i was considerig making sort of a retro fallschirmjager uniform. for any one that doesnt know what they are, it was germany's elite paratroper unit aka green devils or goblins to veterans in ww2. i dont have a sketch to put up but i was going to purchase a replica jump smock similar to this one

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=151190

then assemble a grey jump suit, blk shirt, blk kneepads, blk boots,a blk replica kevlar helmet, and some black lbe. any ways tell me what you think of the idea.

I think if that's something you want to do for yourself to wear Surplus, then go for it.  There are some guys who already have allied WWII uniforms so it would be cool to have a few guys with Axis uniforms.  Good luck on your project and dont listen to those who dont even understand the question but seem to have an answer for everything.

this uniform will look modern but have a stark german look to it as well, just think what if ww2 hadnt happend until 1996 thats what it should look like. i love ww2 stuff but the exact ww2 look just doesnt suit me, so im trying making something i like into something ill wear.

Your gonna wear a mainly black uniform in AZ? Don't you think that will stand out a little and be kinda hot?

...thinking....nope dont really care, its unique not practical. i have practical uniforms and uniforms that look cool and unique. this one fall under the i want to as a hobby category. but if you have any imput lets hear it, otherwise question functionalty and practicality of something different, elsewhere.

You asked for opinions or questions didn't you? Let's not cry everytime we hear something we don't agree with...

That's your opinion, just as what I said is MY opinion. Try using some punctuation and capatalization next time you type a response, might earn you some brownie points.

I agree, black REALLY stands out (look at people who wear black vests at OPs) and it would be hot as hell to wear.  Milsim is the idea, so mil uniforms seems appropriate.

Hey, who cares?  I mean, if he want's to have a uniform for a HOBBY purpose, than why must you criticize?

ANd busta, for the record... your first comment wasn't an opinion, it was a question.  ;)

busta once again youve got nothing relevant to contirbute, or backround knowledge on the subject,so post elsewhere.

any how, look at photos of ww2 german soldiers lots of thier gear is dark colors. hence what im replicating. sniper has seen the extent of my uniforms and im sure he can attest to thier realism and quality. black isnt practical but it was worn. so thats what im shooting for. this unifrom is for fun. ive always wanted something like it for the collection, but never had the time. i wont wear it to games regularly but perhaps when a mercenary, terrorist or even german is needed ill be ready to play the part.
