I have to say--NOBODY under 18!
I played Paintball for many years. I started back in 1989. Paintball once was fun, but they lowered thaage limits and little kids are playing the game, and have RUINED it!
They Cheat! They do not call themselves out when hit, they wipe, and they have big mouths.
I was at a game, inddors, the horn blew, and everyone began spraypainting the area. I got hit from behind by my own teammate, yet after I walked off the field, some little 9 years old from the other team kept taunting me that he had shot me out. I have played far too long to not know who shot me out.

I am NEW to Airsoft, in fact I have yet to play my first game, but I know its going to be a blast.
But lets keep it at an adult level for adults! NO kids!

You are 49, of course you don't want to play with minors, but here is what you have done wrong in my eye so far;
-You lack any airsoft game experience
-You have not met or played with anyone under 18
-You have put a label on anyone younger being a cheater, when, in reality, all the pro paintball players cheat. I know for a fact a lot of teams teach their players to wipe and all....
-You need to chill, 2 posts on the forum and you already have a strong opinion.

I look forward to seeing you at a game, although you might not be looking forward to ME being there. I hope that by the time your first game comes around that you will have a more open minded view of airsoft players or people in general. I also have to say, that I think many older players feel intimidated by younger players, because if we can move faster than you, and that first shot on target, you will feel inferior. This is just my opinion, lacking legalities and political BS.

HOLD ON!!! My opinions and what I posted was based on my experiance in paintball. I was NOT making a judgement on airsoft, or any of the youngguns playing airsoft.
You sound like a player who can handle himself in a game .
The basic point is that Airsoft guns are not for sale to those under 18 for a reason.  They look and feel real, and there are a lot of younger folks who lack the responsabilty of ownership.

I also know for a fact that once paintball started to allow younger and younger kids to play, the game went down the toilet.

I cannot say anything about airsoft players, because I have yet to play a game. But I do believe my statements on young players playing airsoft is valid, I just was trying to point out that airsoft needs to stay adult to keep it from falling into the hands of little kids.
Paintbal to me because the hula hoop on the 90's.

Your observations of paintball are similar to those that made me decide to give it up.  Well, that and the direction of the gear and guns.

What you will find, however, is that in AA there are many minors that do justice to our hobby.  Alot of the best players in my mind are 16-18 years old.

Typically, however, we tend to not allow anyone under 15 or so.  That said, most of us don't even like to play with anyone younger than 18, with few exceptions.

That said, prepare to get schooled at least once or twice by someone younger than you on the field.  These younger guys have been playing as long as anyone else!

I agree with Azsarge.  We've got minors in Arizona that in some cases are far more adult than some adults.  ;)

Frankly, an elitest attitude does little for our sport and shows just as much a lack of professionalism as the paintballers I hear so many complain about.  Instead of complaining about minors that cheat, etc., how about helping them become better players in our sport and therby building up our player base... instead of tearing it down?  :(

Nothing wrong with an elitist attitude if you can back it up on the field.

After dying twice this past game, I will be losing mine.  ;)

Since when were you ever Elite? Hah, well everyone needs to accept that they will probably get hit at least once a day, unless you can dodge bb's. Most of the shots I get hit with are "lucky" shots to say the least.... I can tell you paintball experience doesn't mean sh*t when it comes to airsoft...It is a totally different playing style and requires different skills.

Well, I certainly didnt want to come across as a know it all. Paintbal was my LOVE!
I hope to find a new love in Airsoft.
I have no doubt that I will get popped by some young guns more than once I am sure!

Everything has a learning curve to it, and being an old dilatadated fart who dont move too fast no more--I am sure I have a lot to learn.
My basic point is that Paintball al;lowed increasingly younger and younger kids to play, and that really ruined it for me--not because they were faster than me, and they certainly were not batter, but they sure didnt understand the game or play by the rules.

Anyway--Hope to see you all out on the field!

Buy some stuffed animals, have your mom hide them throughout the house, hunt them down... keep practicing until your 18.

Well I've never played with ppl, but I DO like to play with better people.

If you are under 18, go to an all ages game.  Quit bitching, too - we just had one last weekend!

Believe it or not, these forums aren't just a plce to come and hide behind your computer screen.  They are used to organize games, as well!  Go figure . .

oh christ you take this seriously...

the guys i play with in pa are a LOT more laid back about this ( http://www.cap904.com/c3  for you interested).  i have a bolt action rifle and have one kill with it; i derive my fun from the shooting and neutralizing of the enemy with that particular weapon.  and as i said i have only one kill with it, from 3 days of playing.  i've fired hundreds of rounds by now and only one has it and i'm 18 at that. so skill level is more than just age as you already know.  but i dont think you should limit what others can play just so you can improve your already "ubar 1337 sk1lz".  if you wait a few years and these guys wind up being better than you are then you'll love playing with them apparently, so really you have to think about whether you want to limit what others can do for your own enjoyment or you can put up with it for a little while and have the best experience possible with the most number of people.  the largest number of people we ever got playing with was 47 and it was a momentous day which i doubt will ever be repeated or even gotten close to.   our regular attendance was around 10.  i will freak out if there are 20 people in one game and have a nerdgasm should it hit 30 regularly.  cant wait to play with most of you

If we're too serious for you.. theres a button, labeled "home" just to the left of your address bar. Click that, and that's the back exit. :)
