BTW, then if I'm 10-6 in the AO with non-MILSPEC MARPAT, it's not A-OK but FUBAR with SIX, and I'm 86, well, WTF, over.

Ahh, this thread has turned out even better than I had imagined!

Thanks for the comedy, guys! :D

Matt, about me doing those things in the past, Yes I did!  That's my point about this stuff.  All of it is cool to a certain extent.  Like society, trends develope in AA.  One guy buys a weesatch, others like it and buy the same.  It's not wrong, just funny.  Everyone has their quirks.
But seriously, BLACKHAWK! is ok now! ;)

Bottom line, don't do what others do just because they do it.  Like Dave said - DO WHAT WORKS!  You see, the fashion police and functionality police have a joint task force called Operational Detachment - Charlie ("C" for cool).  If you get a ticket for wearing a TAC Force vest, but you got it for 10 bucks and it works fine for you, then ODC will pay the fine and go to gear school for you! :P
