EDIT: Nevermind, i'm falling into the exact argument I specifically tried to prevent in my original post.

Everyone is entitled to their viewpoint.

Neutral - Independent.  I have views that swing both ways.

You know, I can get along with you all day if you're a hardcore conservative.  Hell, my friends dad is hardcore, but he's still an awsome dude and I can sit there and talk with him about politics.  But yet, I consider myself to be somewhere between a moderate and liberal democrat.  Despite all of that, there are some views of the conservative apsect that I appreciate.

But if you're an ass to anyone who is on the other end of the spectrum (aka... "I don't like liberals... PERIOD"), I will have a low respect for you.  Why?  Not because you're conservative, but because you cant respect anyone who is not.  ANd that is the problem that I have encountered countless times on this board.

You don't to often see moderate liberals attacking conservatives.  Is there a person out there saying "Conservatism is a disease taking over this country, and we must do all to stop the rebellion!  They're idiots!".  No.... there really isn't.  We have our far left guys, but not even they directly attack the other end.

Now why can't those who attack maybe learn to respect just a bit?  What harm would it do?

I think you take a fense to anything anyone says that you don't like. People are entitled to their opinions and feelings. Stop being so cocky for two minutes. I have never met a liberal that had an opinion about something I liked, never, and Ive met quite a few of them. Alot of them were also always running their mouths about what they believe in, even when they weren't asked. No one really gave a shit in the first place. I am just saying I don't like liberal Ideals. I shouldn't have to feel like I need to defend myself because of what you say.... Stop turning everything into a personal fight.

Ryan, Why should I take a chill pill? I am expressing my opinions and thoughts, the guy knew when he made this thread the crap that was gonna be on it.

DUde... did I ever say that that was aimed towards you?  NO.  I didn't.  Stop being so self-obsessed and maybe you'll see that it's NOT ALL ABOUT YOU.  Did I say that I take offense to you?  Nope... I said that I will have lower respect for someone who narrows an entire group, comprised of around HALF OF THIS COUNTRY, into one negative spectrum.  And that applies to BOTH major parties.  If you're a dick liberal, or a dick republican, it makes no difference.  I MIGHT NOT LIKE YOU.  REmember... I too am a US citizen entitled to their OPINION.

Sorry my boy, but I was never talking about you...  Like I said, not everything is about YOU.  ;) :D

Boy? From what I have heard you aren't much of a man. Well you seemed to direct your comments in my ways so I responded to them.

Be able to have a debate without getting personal is the first step to have an intelligent discussion (I'm not singling one person out here, I've done it too).  Religion and Politics are two very passionate subjects, just agree to disagree.

i consider myself a conservative democrat. i hate extremest whether its hardcore liberals or hardcore conservatives its extreme thinking that gets things screwed up. ie taliban and mujahadeen (extreme religious groups). i share views from both parties but more democrat than republican. i do agree with many republican fundamentals. and its this interpretation from the best of both sides that i draw my personal affiliation.

This is starting to sound like the debates we had to do for US government last semester (I graduated last month). All a bunch of accusing and finger pointing, which usually ends up getting neither party anywhere and in our case, the thread locked.

If you feel like you want to settle your personal dilemas, than do it with pms. All of us here are only trying to have a logical discussion about the political majority of the airsoft playing community, and getting into flame wars is a real poor way to do it. Please, you are welcome to share your political views, but that does not mean that you can force them on another. This thread is meant for discussion, not opposition or segregation.

[Edit]
Busta_Cap-

The word I belive you were searching for is "Republicanism".
"Republicism" refers to the supporting or affiliation of the form of government called a "Republic", which was formed as the basis of the american government after the signing of the declartion of independence and the bill of rights.

I agree with Andy... Each person in thier own right is garaunteed by our Constitution to be able to have thier own opinions and should be able to express them.

If there is one thing I have learned in life it is to NEVER under any circumstances discuss you r views on Political, religious, or sexual topics. These topics have gotten many people fired from jobs, soldiers removed from the military services, and has even had people murdered or at the least beaten to within an inch of thier life.

Even though we all have our own opinions I feel these subjects should not be treaded on lightly.

And that's my 2 cents.
