classic airsofting
« on: July 07, 2005, 11:46:36 PM »
I was wondering if there was anyone intersted in getting together a classic airsoft group, it would be comprised of people who enjoyed the more historical side of combat. the requirements would be for uniforms between the years 1901 and 1991. you could of course use any weapon new or old with your gear and uniform but era matching would be preferrable. your uniform could be from any country but im guessing united states, british german and russian would be the most common. this is just an idea to get a feel for how many people would be up for it. send a pm for more questions.

ww2 uniform/ korea: thompson, colt45, m1, m1carbine, greasegun,bar, mp40,mp44,mg42,luger,waltherp38,ppk,mauserk98 ect.)

vietnam uniform: ar15,m16a1,colt45,m60,law,38 s&w,m79,ak-47, tt33,rpg,car15,xm177,rpk

gulfwar: ar15,m16a1,m16a2,m733,m4,ak-47,tt33,m9,colt45,rpg, rpk,

Dude... how many of the weapons that oyu just listed to you, vincent, and I have all together?!

Just about.... well... i'd say 50% at least.  Almost all of the WWII stuff.

I think once I get this camera payed off, i'm going to invest in some US WWII gear.

I was actually thinking of making it into a seperate little organization called Classic Airsoft Divison, or CAD for short.

It would be for anyone who enjoys using less than modern style gear and weapons (WW1-gulf war) in airsoft. Your uniform can be of any country and of any style that the individual perfers. We could also hold special ops that are based around certain uniforms. Such as to organizing a vietnam event due to the abundace of gear and uniforms, and a gulf war event due to the abundance of desert. I believe somthing like this may give us war history buffs a chance to relate with eachother when it comes to gear and weapons. Ive always wanted to get to know other people who appreciate the older style of things. I only know a few of them already, but im sure that there are others out there that like the idea of getting to play as a soldier of the past.

Maybe it should be called Historical Airsofting, instead of classic. Classic airsoft would be using oldschool gas rifles(there is actually a forum for this) that are harder to aquire than AEGs.

Good thinking!
It might actually sound better as Historical Airsoft Division or HAD. Right now its only a few people that share a common interest. But I do know some others.

I think dust2dust has a kar 98.
And theres got to be someother people out there with m16a1/2s and even some m79s. And I know that 1trooper has an m60. And with all of these together it would be a good start.

You dont need to fit in!
Everybody has SOME east german stuff.
Its just the thought that counts.
We dont have to have everybody have the same type of uniform, but only have the same type of interest. It dosent matter if we have a person who is totally russian, and someone else who is totally WWII, they still have a common interest in what they wear and use. Besides, we can always just play along with what eachother has. For example, your east german uniform would work for a WWII uniform, and a soviet cold war uniform as well.

I think Classic Airsofting would be cool.  As for the name I think Historical Airsofting has a better ring to it, but whatever.

Also worth noting is the Regiment, also out of CA.

Their russian impressions are second to none, IMO and they have quite a broad range of uniforms.

As long as it's done in a non-assclown, somewhat (ok, very) correct way, I think it's a good idea.

If you are just looking for a bunch of guys to run around with sh*tty guns and sh*tty gear, I know of a few guys you can play with.

Making a movie or somthing would be great, but its just too much effort and orgaization. We would all have to have matching equitpment and the same era guns, which gets a bit on the expensive side when you are talkning vietnam or WWII. I just want to see how many other peple out there actually enjoy having the look of a piece of history.
People who have pre modern gear, like east german, vietnam, WWII ect...
