If you want to get rid of it the right way, without endangering yourself, make friends with the bees.  Leave them alone.  In the meantime, find some other bee-like insects that do not like the bees inhabiting the premises.  Train them, feed them, and set them loose on the existing bees.  By the time the new inhabitants find out they don't like us, we will have found a new AO.

BEE Tactical!!!
« Reply #47 on: July 10, 2005, 04:13:04 PM »
When I got stung, I didn't do anything other than look in the building to see how the bee situtation looked.  But IIRC didn't someone shoot at the bee hive before I got to the building?  Ever since I got stung though, I have been extra cautious around that building - BEE Tactical! is right John!  I never thought racism was something that creatures in the wild would exibit, but after what happened to me I am beginning to change my views on that...

I had never really seen the extent of the bee infestation of that building untill this game. I had figured that it was just a small hive, but after I saw it, I changed my mind. During the second game I went around the back side of it near where the wall made out of railroad ties are. I say a couple dozen bees flying in and out of the large window and in various holes in the wall. They didnt seem too concerned with all of us being around there  and I didnt realy feel any of them try to land on me. After the game I got a chance to peer into the doorway and it looks like the hive pretty much encompasses the whole of the cieling and some of the walls. So probalby the only way to get rid of them would be to demolish the building. So I guess that If we just play around them, they shouldnt be that much of the problem.

Id make sure that if anyone who is planning to attend one of your games at Florence to make you aware first if they are alergic to bee stings. Because if you are concerned about lawsuits, and a person who alergic gets stung, you may have a big one on your hands.

well.... I'm not organizing the events, and I figure getting stung by a bee, biten by a snake, etc. are all acts of god.  There is nothing one person can do about it.  Getting stung by a bee can't be prevented by anybody.  Good point though... kinda why I like 18 and older games..............

If you are allergic to bees, and come to a game where you know there will be bees present, then get stung at that game - you are responsible.

I don't care how old you are, out on the field you are in charge of your own ass!

Right on, Sarge.

Let me add that if you even THINK you might be allergic, see a doctor and get a Sting Kit. Anaphylactic shock is gonna probably be fatal before anyone can get you to the nearest emergency room.

And, again, don't F*** with that hive!
Selah.

I'm tellin ya guys... three words... flame... throw... er.  Well, ok, it's three words if your Canadian.  ;)

Seriously though.  If you were going to bug bomb it, You'd have to cover over the windows and doors and then toss in at least two or three bombs to make sure you get a good perfusion of the chemical into the hive.  Otherwise, leaving them alone is the better idea.  :)

Have you guys ever thought about what you would do after all the bees were gone. from the way some of you are describing the infestation it seems like a lot of bees. so when theyre all dead you have a crap load of dead bees everywhere. Trying to sneak up on the enemy and walking around on all those bees aint gonna work.

[QUOTE="Patty o

Oh yeah:

"Hey man do hear a chrunching noise?"

"Yep oh I hear it all right"

"Someone must be over by that building, walking on the dead bees, let's go get them!"

Mmmm Hmmm. This could be a big problem.

There were bees at one point in time. I heard, last game, there were none. All you fruits are just pansies! Woody took care of em, damnit. It didn't take a flamethrower, didn't take a bee suit, didn't take anything fancy.. just a few 6mm's, and a Purple Heart to Mikey.. and my head..

Seriously, no big deal. Patty.. there aren't any bees, you will be just fine! They'll never get through your wig, anyways!
