Okay enough bashing on Doc... he's new so lets cut him some slack.

Doc, show up to games, you'll see whats what, meet people (we're all very welcoming in person) you'll have a good time.  Like anything else experience comes with time, I had a lot of questions when I started, these guys were great in answering them.

Just show up, you'll have a good time, the longer you wait to attend a game the more you'll get a rep as a chairsofter, Mooncruiser, Flash just started attending games, ask them how they were received, both guys were great to skirmish with and will be a real asset to the airsoft community

My next point.

Even if I come across as a dick on the forums, I do my best to make the newer guys feel welcome.

Ask busta who was there to answer questions at the first game he came to.  Same with alot of these guys.  I just didn't want you to get the wrong impression before you made it out to an AA event.  Most of us aren't this obnoxious in person. :P

I would post your "Look at the noob" pic, but that's not mine to post!

And trust me, you'll have a good time at AA games. You'll see, on the forums, the obnoxious guys post more than the nice ones, and the nice ones talk in person more than the obnoxious. Me, I'm just obnoxious on the forums, because people can't beat me up here.

When the Sh1t hits the fan in airsoft, it's just a teeny plastic .bb being shot at you, hardly a tense situation, IMO.

Happies.
Chip

........So ya-its intense-its also very NON true to life/war/combat.

I play for fun and to be able to shoot the squids out!

FLASH

I agree, nothing compares to the real thing and that is true about anything.  But airsoft is the best simulation there is, next to simunitions.  But there are reasons why most people here are doing airsoft and not simunitions.  Even simunitions can not provide you the same feelings, but probally can better than airsoft due to the pain factor. But in the end, during the best simulation, you still know that you have a really good chance of going home at the end of the day.

I think everyone here agrees that the number one reason people are here is to have fun  :)

Unless you have the newer, less than 3lbs per sq in simunition rounds...you won't want to be shot anywhere without armor... If you take a simunition round to the face you will defininately never want to do it again...heh. ;)

To get back on topic...
What Doc is trying to do is no different than if anyone else tried to start their own team.  Many here are looking at this and wondering what advantages are there to joining a "national team".  Other than "to be apart of some organization" there are many reasons - training, hanging with like minded players, and organizing games are the usual suspects.  You don't need USAC to do this, but if this is the route Doc wants to take then  [smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif] to him.  Looking forward to seeing you at the next game Doc!

Great summary Mikey!  Got all the ideas in there and straight to the point. Listen to this Kung Fu Masta!

Good luck with your team Doc. Hope to see you and your team at some games  :)

Yep. All B.S. aside, good luck with your team building. I am just too damn independent to take orders. It looks like you will strike a chord with some of the younger guys, as I see it.
Happies,

U.S. Airsoft Corp was around first but I didn't know when I started U.S. Airsoft.org. Anyway, I know Skip fairly well and have talked with him many times although not recently. USAirsoft.org was more for developing a team of instructors to develop the living history of milsim, honor and safety, and leadership and teamwork.

This is being carried over to a degree with the Moskvaspesnaz team using a Russian theme to attract those more interested in team development than individual coolness.

We need to get a field going, or at the very least a 4,000 sqr ft building for a couple 5 on 5 games .... anybody else feel the same?

Very interested.

Individual coolness is what draws people to airsoft.

For guys who aren't in the service, or can't be for whatever reason, airsoft is a way to roleplay for a day or two.

Honestly, it's nice to have teamwork, but I doubt anyone discovers airsoft as a way to work better with others.  It's about dressing up and running around with guns, no more.

That "Band of Brothers" stuff you always talk about is found in the military and nowhere else.  Anyplace else, it's just called "being buddies."  Anyone who tries to tell me otherwise needs to stay in their lane.

Although I do feel that as I get to know people at games, we tend to work better as a team. But yeah, never on the scale you mentioned Sarge.
