Officers Club?
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:49:36 AM »
Whatever happened to the AA Officer's Club? It still exists as a group, but the forum is gone. Did it get deleted for lack of use?

Did I really have to bold that so you can see it?
Just because i'm not a post whore such as yourself, who really has nothing but negative comments to say about other's decisions and  i-haven't-used-it-yet-but-because-I-don't-have-it-I-don't-like-it reviews of gear that you've never even seen before. So really Busta, sit down and raise your hand.

Actually, in Busta's defense... he did use a wink to denote he was joking. :)

Even if he is a post whore.  ;)

I think the idea of the Officers Club was for people, with enough posts, meaning enough time on the forums. And what that means, is that they've gotten used to peoples other opinions, and comments that they didn't need to blow up at them on EVERY FUCKING THREAD.

And I think, by the time a few of you reach officer, you still wouldn't be ready. And maybe that's why it was taken down. Also, Greg pointed out a good reason. A good guy like Ron could possibly not be in the Officers Club, but maybe an annoyance on the forum would be there asap, and do just that.. be annoying.

I think I would have like it, just so we can talk about good stuff that we didn't want all the beginners and soft-attitude members to see. But, once they reached officer and saw it, they'd be aggrivated. And, that, would ruin part of AA's look.

Maybe it was a bad idea, the Officers Club.

Sad.

Edit: And I'm not pointing fingers to anyone particular on this thread. I'm talking about the whole forum. How, you haven't even learned to ignore some of Andys comments, or how you start political arguements every 10 minutes. It's simple.. that's how he thinks.. this is how I think. It probly won't change. Is it worth it to get the moderators aggrivated, and have them delete the posts, and write a post about how you don't shut up out of aggrivation, just so you can have the last word?

Question, why does this exist then?

AIRSOFT ARIZONA MEMBERS
This is a forum for registered lifetime members of AirsoftArizona. We strive to hold discussions within to a higher level than the public forums. Only those who are AA members have access to this forum

Well, in my opinion, I can't hold all the topics I want in there, because some.. people can just pay and be on the forum, and start as many arguements as they do here. And, that's why that areas sorta.. dead. Because, that's what people have started doing.

I've noticed a distinct change toward the trite and mundane in our forum, and we're now seeing threads that regularly depart into the bizarre; you have to pick your way through all that to see if anyone has posted anything interesting, like a game, or some good data on making AEG's fire better. It would be nice if we could somehow move things back to fun topics about airsoft, recollections of good games, interchange of stuff that makes the above better for us all.
But then, that's the ultimate jungle democracy of forums.......

Well, there's always a PM or email if those of us need to talk off-board.

Or we could just wreak havoc on the guys who post but don't even play!

It's an airsoft forum.  If you don't play airsoft, find a forum for guys who sit around, play chess, drink coffee, or do whatever it is you non-players do.

You know, I always found chairsofting to be kind of ridiculous.  I mean, as airsofters, we are already kind of pretending.  A pretender that pretends to pretend?  That's the chairsofter for you!  Lame.

I think I've found myself posting less lately.  Why?  Because I can talk to these people when I go to a game!  Now, I have internet access at work so it's kind of evening out. :P
