I dont know what to think so far! The first show should of been 2 hours. Theres too much to tell and to do in 25 minutes(way too many tv commercials)

I Like Angles character so far. Screams is also good. The girls have to go!
I have no problem with women in the military., but not on the front lines!!!! If you think I am wrong you spend 20-25 days out in the field with a woman you will understand 100%

Hygiene buddy Hygiene!  We have to provide a OB for them.

A man can go  2-3 weeks without a shower(Wouldnt want to)
Have you been around a woman that hasnt showered for 3 weeks and is on her period..
Its the WORST thing I ever smelled. There was 18 out of 20 of use threw up....
Not saying a woman cant handle the job. This chick(Nancy) was as Burly as the come. But her Hygiene put her in tears

That girl pissed me off, she got all PMSed when the guys tried to help her dig in fast, becuase they had already done their own positions.

What version of Hueys are the Marines running(actual number)? Isn't it like an N version or something? Anyway, the Huey they showed was a C version, I believe. I think the paintjob is what pissed me off the most(cmon, bright green?). It wasn't even a flat color, it was gloss green.

Maybe the next episode, if there is one, will be better.

Wow.  That is the most disgusting thing I have ever read on these forums.  Menstruation is something I am aware of, but that was just a little too descriptive.  Thanks! :?

Now, about that Huey.  The Marines use UH-1N's, as you correctly stated.  The UH-1C ("Charlie model") was used mostly as a Gunship Platform during Vietnam.  My father shot up many a sampan from the cockpit of one over in SE Asia.  Good bird.

They were later upgraded to the UH-1M standard by installing more powerful engines and making other modifcations.  The unit I'm in had them as Gunships until as late as the 80's.

Both the C and M model are easily distinguished by the single window pane on the sliding cargo door.  D, H, N, and other models have 2 windows on the sliding door, and the airframe overall is a bit longer.

Having not seen the show, I cannot say what model it was, but if it was painted that color green my guess it was a privately owned Huey, used often in Vietnam movies/shows and was just not repainted.  The Army has a tendency of NOT allowing the use of it's equipment for anything but high-profile work such as Black Hawk Down (Even though "Blackhawk" is ONE WORD!).

Any ideas whether or not the gear in it was airsoft replica gear? :P   I would imagine the makers spent 80 dollars per helmet, rather than the 450 dollar pricetag of a real ACH.

Gear looked legit to me. Not sure about rifles, but I dont even remember seeing every rifle eject casings in a fight, so my guess is either A.) They were dummies B.) they didn't wanna spend money on blanks  C.) or they were airsoft guns.

I can't tell what model it was exactly, the sliding doors were removed. The door was really small, and it looked like the same model Huey used in the movie "We Were Soldiers".

There were 2 models of Huey in that movie.

The C model gunship in the end (that incorrectly had miniguns installed), and the D models ferrying the troops throughout the film.

Then it was probably the D Model, it looked extremely similar. No seats, little box like things for the gunners to sit on(the gunner had an M249), doors were removed(as stated earlier by me). I'd like to look at it again to confirm, but I don't wanna torture myself again by watching 50 minutes to almost pure crap, for a quick look at a bird.

I believe that the whole walking legs thing, and other such "laughable" parts may have been trying to show the surrealness of the first battle for the new recruits. I could be wrong though, we'll just have to wait for the next few episodes to see if it is just as "laughable". As for the rest of the show I thought it was well done and will definately be watching it some more. Oh, and if I was sergeant scream and I found out that on my day to go home I had to stay with some rookies for ninety more days, than I'd be pretty damn pissed off too.

Cochise, I believe the Huey had white skids too, and the last scene did look like the arizona desert

It's on again at 10pm on Saturday if anyone wants to watch it again

Just a few quick points.

1) Army soldiers do not go to "boot" or boot camp. They go to basic training, Marines go to boot camp. Dim makes mention of going to boot, wrong.

2) In the final "attack" on the compound there is no way in hell those soldiers would be up and walking forward towards it while there was still an option to fire from cover. They were clearly within 300 meters and would never have approached until they had eliminated all visible threats.

3) Yeah the M203 thing was waaaaayyyy lame.
