Alright, heres the latest -

Last I heard from evike.com was August 2nd, and I've emailed them 3 times since.  I have no idea if they're going to get back to me or not.  Perhaps they don't want our business.

I've emailed Airsoft Extreme about a similar group buy to see what they have to say.  They have a replica TC-2000 helmet on their main page.  I don't know if its the same helmet or not and they only seem to have the TC-2000 style on their webpage, but I'll see what they reply with.

Sorry about the delay.

Figures... Just as I finish sending an email to AEX, I check my mail and find a response from Evike.com -

Quote from: "evike.com"
Dear Matt,

The helmets we can do $30 each plus the exact shipping and handling cost, let us know how many and we can quote you on s/h, we have very good rates with Fedex. We charge more shipping and handling via ebay because of the high ebay charges. But if you order direct via phone or from our website you save a lot of s/h.

Helmet001 we have in OD, Tan and black, we have it in stock.

Helmet002 and 003 (with the cut off) are special orders which is at least $15 more per helmet because they cost us much more. We don't have large quantity of these in stock so you will need to order them at least 1 week in advance.

If you have any further questions, suggestions or comments please feel free to email me right back.

Please include original message in your replies.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Evike

Evidently you haven't tried to order either in the last 3 months, then. :P

Yes, this replica order is a PITA, but there isn't exactly a demand for plastic helmets in sandland if ya get my drift. ;)

Wait, weren't the helmets being sold for $30 anyway?  Where's the group buy discount?  Guess it depends on how much of a deal we get on s/h.  Hey Raith, can you find out if they have an XL sized 2000 helmet next time you talk to them?  I emailed them and got no response.

XL?  If they are sized anything like the real ones, there is no XL.  The pads can be rearranged to allow use by those with large domes.

Alright, updated helmet situation -

Evike hasn't gotten back to me again and I'm fed up with them.

So like I said, I sent an email to Airsoft Extreme about their MICH replicas, and got back good news.

My first response from AEX -

Hello Matt,

Thank you for your inquiry.  Andrew says "hi."  They are in stock and we can offer you a bulk price of $35 per helmet for 10-12.
Thanks!

Regards,
Airsoft Extreme Sales

I like this deal.  Although, its only for TC-2000s (The full kind) there should be, according to my numbers, at least 12 of us that would go for TC-2000s.  I'm not sure on the colors yet.  Personally, I don't mind what color they are.  Krylon makes this really thin helmet cover that sprays on.

I would like to be able to have them sent individually to everyone, but I'm not sure if thats possible.  I'll find out.

I'll contact, by PM, those that expressed possible interest in the TC-2000.  The price may change if a few people don't want them.

More to come.

I'd like to get one. I don't really care about color. OD or Tan, whatever they will do. I suppose OD would be preferred if we get a choice. The TC2000 is fine with me, too. I don't even care about shipping to me. You can just give it to me at Irene, if that's a problem.

I'd like to get in on this if at all possible.  Sorry about the late notice, but I've been in and out of town and not on the forums much.  I'd go for a tan 2000 and I'll pick it up from you or something.

Thats a great deal, even though I wanted a 2002 I will go with a 2000.  Ill go with OD now instead of tan, I dont have time to deal with a cover. Later I may try Matts method of using a Krylon super thin helmet cover : )   Make no mistake, I will take what ever color they have, even if it is black.

You do know that you will have to get a cover before Irene, right?

Nate, you might give Larada's a call. I was in there today, and they had a buncha used helmet covers. I didn't look to see if they were for the new style or old Fritz, though.

Lightfighter sells MICH covers.

Do we know how much protection these things give? I'd assume it would be similar to a protec. Hopefully it has some padding inside. I don't really want one of these just to "look cool", I want it for Irene to prevent something like my dad's SASCO incident and not look like an idiot for wearing a protec to be "like delta force."
