Here's the rules for fps. from their website. They don't chrono guns before the game, and players 15 and up are NOT required to wear full face mask.

b) Gas weapons
      (1) Gas pistols are recommended for use in any game. The requirements on these guns are: They must be firing under 450fps for outdoor games, 350fps for CQB; They shoot a plastic 6mm or 8mm bb; They use Green gas, Propane, Duster, HFC134a, Red Gas, Blue Gas, G17, C02, ect.. Under no circumstance will Nitrogen or Nitrous be allowed on any field of an MMA game.

      (2) Gas sniper rilfes are recommended for those taking on the sniper role. Use the same requirements as 301(b)(1) and limit to 550fps. A minimum 50ft distance for rifle use will be enforced. If a sniper is within 50ft from the player, s/he must use a pistol.

  (c) AEGs
     (1) AEG (Airsoft Electric Guns aka Automatic Electric Guns) are the most recommended for game play. They must shoot only 6mm plastic bb's and shoot under 415fps (with .2g bb's) for outdoor games, under 350fps (with .2g bb's) for CQB games. There is no minimum or maximum magazine capacity or any upgrade rules other than the Feet per second limit.

I played with them one time and some jackAss was using a really hopped up AEG. I know it was going well over 400, I was punching through brush like it was not even there.

I was shot in the shoulder at point blank range wich left a nasty hematoma for 2 weeks!

All in all they ( the people I played with) were unsafe kids driving around in there BMW, shooting out the window, using way hopped up AEGs and the list goes on.

Good information guys!  It looks the rules were made to suit somebody's AEG that was shooting slightly over 400FPS.  AA games have always been safe and fun as have some other games in Tucson.  I think I'll keep playing with the locals and at AA games, where I know people are playing safe!

Actually the comments going back and forth was rather entertaining to read, lol. I can understand why he’s getting upset because comments are being made about McDowell Airsoft, but at the same time, he was only expressing his honest opinion. Just a thought [smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif] , but great discussion guys!

It was not aimed at you, it was aimed at Taz and Jesse James.  And no, it's not to suit my gun if thats what you are referring to.  It was changed to fit The NAM's rules, as they are the primary sponsor of this event.  The reason is, no two AEGs are the same, 415 is the max you can shoot with a AEG, no higher than 415, as there is no +/- with it.

And 550 for a sniper rifle with a 50 foot engagement rule is not safe?  Wow, I guess I better call up Reaper and give him a talking to.

I don't see where he said it wasn't safe. And not only that but he wasn't really attacking you for the rules, only trying to bring out the real reason behind them (although 415 is a little odd) But i realize that this isn't my "fight" or as some would put it "discussion" hehe so i'll just back off and let you dual it out hehe.
